Does Cyprus use a GSM Network? also is there a cell phone provider that has a "pay as you go plan"? and does anyone know the cost of a Sim card?

Thanks

15 pound with Vodafone "So Easy" will get you a sim card with 3 pound credit. Credit comes in 5, 10, 20 cards, if you buy 10 pound you get 11, if you buy 20 pound you get 23.. phone calls and text messags are very cheap.

Hi orokliniservices, thanks for your reply...would you know what the cost per min is...I'm sure it depends on the value of the card i buy. I also did a Google search and has anyone ever heard of "The Areeba prepaid SIM card"?

I'll be in Larnaca for most of my trip...so blondophile, how do you find the service with Areeba? Also does anyone know of any free hotspots in Larnaca for the internet?

This is a completely wrong statement. Areeba is excellent, I use it for two years and only had minor problems in the start. Coverage is actually better than CYTA because you have the option of roaming on CYTA without any added cost  but with CYTA if you do not have signal you cannot roam on Areeba. Also from areeba you have excellent internet services, 3G broadband for 30 pounds a month unlimited, mobileTV, friends(talk for free with up to free friends) etc. CYTA is crap in customer service and pay as you talk is about 20% more expensive.
