So, we're all the same... (according to research)

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I think that you are all forgetting that many genuine TCs have now left Cyprus, and there is only estimated to be around 45,000 of them left in the 'TRNC.' All the rest (over 100,000) are Turkish settlers. So when people say we are all the same etc, I think you maybe need reminding that the true TC's are now in the minority in their own illegal state.

Therefore, if these Turkish settlers are the new TCs, then this research, DNA testing etc seems flawed and we are no longer as alike as we would possibly like to think.

Hi miltiades, its great to be back...I've missed your thoughtful comments on matters at hand...I am looking forward to getting back into the 'swing of things' as they say :)

as for our friend simons comments, how did u come up with the figure of 45,000 TC's? thats rediculous...there are roughly that much Turks, but much more TC's...Trust me, take it from someone who visits the TRNC on a regular basis...I would notice if 2 out of 3 people were Turks :)

These are independent research figures my friend. It is now without a doubt that Turkish settlers from 1974 onwards outnumber genuine TCs. How could you tell? Especially if that particular settler has been living in Cyprus for 20-30 years?

accent, culture, way of life, looks...there are many ways...i would know if 2/3s of my town (of where i know nearly everyone) and the surrounding villages were Turks...there are many, but not more than there are TC's

Who ever said that Settlers are the new TCs? Settlers are settlers not TCs even if settlers are more!

No offence Kartal, but I think I'd prefer to rely on independent research figures, rather than your experiences of your town and a few surrounding villages.
