So, we're all the same... (according to research)

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I think it has something to do with what they say that opposites attract each other. Maybe we are TOO similar and thats the problem?

In 1990 samples from 116 Turkish Cypriot, 303 Greek Cypriot, 235 mainland turks and 174 mainland greeks were tested in the US by professor Huisman.

Genetic illness and DNA expert Dr. Erol Baysal with the assistance of english, turkish, cypriot and greek experts conducted the work, and found that the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot DNA was very close.

Even though the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot see the mainland as there genetic source they are very far apart and also very different and that certain codes in the DNA which can only be found in cypriots was conclusive proof that Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot were the only ones that have this DNA.

Even though it was always assumed that Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot were close this showed they were much closer than could be anticipated.

Hey Kit, when you say the 'Cypriot DNA' is different to the 'Greece' DNA, do you mean the whole of Greece, or just the mainland, or the Islands, or just certain regions? And I guess the same for Turkey...I mean surely the Greeks that originated from Asia Minor must have DNA in common with the Turks from Asia Minor, and the Turks originally from Greece, (Crete, etc..), must have DNA in common with their Greek counter parts..and that Greeks from Crete must have slightly different DNA, from Greeks from Rhodes, or from the Macedonian Region of Greece...I mean, in the ancient times, each area had their own city states, with their own distinct culture, etc..

(And I'm sure DNA)

Peace! :)

This is the problem, you are all saying we are similar and at the same time you are all distinguishing between TC and GC...but like miltiades always says, we are above all things, Cypriots...

forget the language you speak, forget your religion...What nation are you from? Is it not Cyprus? YES! so be a Cypriot, not a Greek or a Turk

and if Cyprus is not the nation you are from, then i guess you are on the wrong forum, my friend :)

I agree with you Kartal! Some people act as if Cyprus is the only country that has more than one language or more than one religions!!
