I used to agree with the worst drivers bit until we went two years ago for a few days to Beirut . At least people in Cyprus they usually stop at (or close to) a traffic light. :)

and by the way I love the Cyprus flag,

I believe that the flag ought to remain as is ....... when the Island is unified..........soon...........I'd love to come home to a unified wholesome Cyprus ....... where Turkish Speaking, Cypriot speaking and maronites live together in harmony supporting each other and hopefully I could learn to speak turkish it is such a beautiful language.... :)

It is a fact, that the majority of Cypriots the last 10-15 years or so, have realised that we are Cypriots FIRST.

We should let go the foreign flags of other nations and we should adopt a new national anthem and stop referring to ethnicity's and then we will progress to prosper as a nation with out discriminating with each other.

All Cypriots shoule be able to live equaly among them selves and make the most of the opportunities for our young suffering nation!

I'd like to see Cyprus as one independent and united state too. With Greek cypriots and Turkish cypriots (and English and Russians and whomever else wants to live here and integrate with the rest of society) as equal citizens.

Even if we had a free hand to choose between an indepented state and uniting with Greece, i'd still pick the first. Why? Because I'd much rather keep the ba***rds that govern us right here in Nicosia where we can keep a better eye on them, instead of in distant Athens...and i rather like the illusion of having more importance and say in things, being one citizen in 800 000 instead of one in 12 000 000.

But I'm Greek. That's my nationality. It doesnt't make a difference if i was born in Cyprus or Crete or Athens or wherever.....I celebrated as much as anyone else when Greece won the Euro 2004 for example(and started cursing them when they began going downhill again :x ), and i feel right at home when i'm visiting Greece....

But so what? :?

i dont need cyprus to be part of greece to feel greek and i certainly don't have to invent a "cypriot identity" to be able to live with other people in a Cypriot state.

Come on people, this is the 21st century. The whole idea of nation-states is dead and buried. This is a globalised society we live in.Just accept who you are,try to get along with the rest whatever they may be, and that's it.No need for "artificial" identities......

Anyway that's my 2 cents...

Not greek-cypriot or turkish-cypriot, maronite or whatever - just plain
Cypriot.

I'll start:

1. Cyprus is our homeland, whatever our ethnicity.

The floor is open :)
