Is Strahd related to Lysi?

He's a giggle isn't he.

Mind you, kind of makes one wonder whether Denktas was right all along.

Has anyone considered that without the approval of the tcs Turkey could not maintain its military on Cyprus.
Had gcs treated tcs as equals during 60-74 Turkey may have intervened re the coup, but would have had little political justification on staying and would have had another Kurdish type situation to deal with, this time from the tcs. In fact the tcs would be joining gcs in wanting them off cyprus. It is only with the will of the tcs that Turkey is able to maintain her presence.

According to posts on this forum tcs had killed some 400 gcs from 60-74, blew up post offices and carried out other types of attacks against the gc govt.. How many Turks have tcs killed or bombs have they planted in protest at Turkish presence. Have those tcs suddenly gone soft?

To think that tcs are puppets of Ankara is a total misunderstanding of the situation. Ankara is just as much a puppet to tcs. For example how would tc’s objection and disapproval of Turkey’s 40,000 troops influence the decisions of EU’s enlargement committee, USA or Britain.?

The only Cypriot traitors were those who supported Enosis, and supported the annihilation of the tc race. How many tcs has anyone ever seen call for Cypriot unity with Turkey or the obliteration, assimilation of the gc race?

Let us now look at the signals we have been sending not only to the other side but to all sides, the international community included:

Papadopoulos said:

1. Spyros Kyprianou is the the one foreigners hear and burst into laughter. He has isolated Cyprus. He has rediculed Cyprus and has belittled Cyprus morally (1983).
2. We believe that the correct policy that is followed today in Cyprus is followed by today's President and tomorrow's President, Spyros Kyprianou. To the sirens of threat we reply with the strength and correct policy of Spyros Kyprianou (1987).
3. The death of Spyros Kyprianou is a personal loss for me of a friend since my student years (2002).
4. At least I fought. He (Spyros Kyprianou) wasn't even here (2001).
5. As it stands today, the A. Plan must be rejected without a second thought (19.11.2002).
6. I disagree with those that claim that the A. Plan must be rejected outright. This would make our position suffer (21.11.2002).
7. This false Robin Hood, the AKEL of grab, is today responsible for our future (1982).
8. This is the propaganda of the nenekoi (traitors that voted in favour of A. Plan (Just after the referendum).
9. We need to forget about the "yes" and the "no" (three days ago, on his way to America, when asking his party to accept Ms Eleni Mavrou - a neneka - to be the candidate of the coalition for Mayor of Nicosia. You see, the appeasement of AKEL is important because he will need AKEL's votes in the Presidential elections of February 2008).

This, my friends, is the calibre of our President. Papadopoulos is nothing but a narrow minded and extremist nationalist. Such a politician can only survive politically in a banana republic.

Bananiot politicians play that sort of games. The biggest game was when Anastasiades was proposing that Omirou should be the president

You are right, and old Omirou became the greatest proponent of the A. Plan. Of course, these things happen in banana republics, I insist.

Maybe we have a banana split republic :)

The TC parties are breaking up into smaller and smaller parts.

I was optimistic of some steps towards a solution after July 8th, but as usual there's another fine mess.

The bird has flown. The train went by and we failed to get on it. Solution is not possible now, the world has more pressing issues to worry about. Both communities, it seems, are happy with the way things are at the moment.

It's looking more and more like that, at least, if you look at it realistically, as things stand.
