Real Ale in Cyprus?

Postby Swashbuckler » Mon Sep 11, 2006 3:51 pm

Hi,

Is there anywhere in Cyprus that brews its own ales? Or a microbrewery in Cyprus selling ale on.

I've heard of Monroe's in Paphos but can't find the contact details.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Theres a microbrewery in Limassol...well they serve the beer in there and very nice it is too.

The place is just off the old harbour roundabout to the left, and then 1st left, then about 20 yds.

Sorry i cant remember the name of the gaff.

Its called Draught....but personally I find their own beer taste-less.....hence I opt for the usual canned Guinness :)

Try Chris's Carrefore Carry Cash or whatever they are going to call themselves.
They had bottles of Spitfire, Bishops Finger, Whitstable Ale and Newcastle Brown in the Larnaca store last week.
The supermarket in Pissouri square also had Spitfire and Bishops Finger.

Bottles just aren't the same.

I know we have to make do with them but are there other places brewing their own beer or breweries turning out cask ale?

Yes - pedantic CAMRA anorak I am!

I bought some tins of Spitfire from Chris Cash & Carry in Pafos this morning. They also had Bishops Finger, etc. and the same in bottles.
