Lets take Theft. Stealing one £ 1.00 is stealing , stealing a million is also stealing but no sane individual would argue that raping a 30 year old is quantifiable with the rape of a baby.Both are rapes , both are thefts but can not under any logic be classed not only similar but related in any way.
9/11 was planned and executed by deranged fanatics who valued their own death more than all those innocent victims valued life. Pulling a gun in a crowded American Bar and shooting a few people , or shooting and killing a passer by while carrying out a robbery is indeed a crime , but can not in way be used as an example in order to demean the gravity of 9/11 .

Yes, many people die in the US every day due to other acts of violence, but the attacks on 9/11 was the most evil and barbaric act of terror in the history of mankind.

That award goes to the USA for using 2 nuclear bombs. 214.000 people died and Children are still born with problems!

The only difference my friend, is that, 3,000 died on the same day from the "same event", as suppose to 3,000 dying over period of 1 month. Both were the results of crime against people. Now, this does not mean the events of 9/11 were not terrible. The killings on 9/11 were random, just like most deaths by crime. The towers and the pentagon were targeted. The buildings were the main targets. Those that got killed were not the targets. They were the results of targeting the symbols of American capitalism and it's military might. So, all those that die from crimes committed by fanatics, bank robbers, rapist murderers etc. are all victims. 3,000 victims from 9/11 committed by fanatics, or 3,000 victims committed by common criminal is the same results for the surviving members of the victim.

dancingbear , ignore him. My wife's Dad was a prisoner of war in Japan and so was his brother, after the war ended they came back to the UK both almost cripples. My father in law lived for six months , his brother a little longer .
This guy , like a lot of my compatriots , are suffering from a severe bout of Anti Americanism , out Island has suffered so much but these people are so rubbed up in the Middle Eastern mentality that they fail to see reality.
May their God help them . I just hope that for the sake of our future generations we do not go down the drain along with the Iraqis , Iranians and all their other heroes. I'm pleased that there are Cypriots like me around prepared to stand our ground and tell these self unknowingly proclaimed enemies of Cyprus that they are wrong in their continuing hatred of the West.

Kikapu... But at the time of the Attacks they must have known that thousands of people were working in the Trade towers and pentagon, so people were targeted.

Of the 3,000 non 9/11 victims are all these inocent's, or as i would hazard a guess quite a lot of killings to Gang war's.

I am not suffering from Anti-Americanism. I am just objective. I don't understand why that event "was the most evil and barbaric act of terror in the history of mankind". Some 1000s died and not 100.000s like in other events. And the families of those 1000s were well compensated from what I know as opposed to the families of victims in other events that lost their homes and had their children and grand children born with cancer. Sotos , you fail to see that the 9/11 horror was deliberately and premeditatedly inflicted upon thousands of totaly innocent people , by inhumane and morally degenerate people who actually believed , and so do their followers , that this horrendous atrocity was the work of God. Americans bombed Hiroshima in order to bring the vicious war to an end . They invaded Afghanistan to eliminate the Taliban war mongers.
