Ian Huntley should be allowed to commit suicide

Postby Niki » Thu Sep 07, 2006 12:32 pm

I don't get it.

Why all this effort and money on saving him and then keeping a 'suicide watch'?

The man is a monster - just let him go or allow the other prison inmates to do what they want. They have tried.

Do you think his latest attempt was accidently on purpose allowed to happen?

Did they ever find out why he commited those murders?
You guys dont have the death penalty for heinous crimes like this in the UK? 40 years in prison isnt enough for something like that...

yes but make sure that the torturing stops just short of killing him so it can go on for a long time

I agree 40 years aint enuff however i would hate for the B...... to be able to fall asleep and its all over!

I would however like him to spend some quality time with the parents of those poor children and see how he fairs?

The prison system allows him to live comfortably with meals, warmth, clothes etc so this is hardly rotting in hell. All the things we would all like to happen to him simply will not.

Let him end it all so the families can try to move on.

He hasn't and probably won't tell what happened. He has shut it all out no doubt after the extensive (and expensive) therapy he is receiving.

When I saw the news and listened to the newscaster referring to this monster as Mr Huntley , made me rather angry that so much effort is used to preserve this beast , most of us , I'm sure , would simply say good riddance , but our justice system is of course based on our Western world values that dictate that the state should take good care of its prisoners regardless of their crime. Sanctity of life is a prerequisite of any civilized nation and even in these cases where the crimes were so vile , society can not dispense with enshrined commitments to preserve life at all costs.

Interesting double standard here. The same society that is commited to preserving life at all costs also puts a lot of effort into training soldiers to kill and sending them out to kill and be killed even when there is no real reason (Iraq).

Train him as a soldier and put him in front of an angry Iraqi mob!!! Job done.
