Ian Huntley should be allowed to commit suicide

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

I'm always very torn on the issue of the death penalty, and on assisted suicide.

I don't think they should let him commit suicide because he hasn't got a terminal disease like pancreatic cancer that has reduced his quality of life and where he lives in daily pain.

One could argue that he deserves the death penalty because he killed innocent children. But the UK doesn't have the death penalty.

So it would appear he is being tortured by his conscience on a daily basis, that's why he takes overdoses. It's partial justice to live in your own hell on earth.

Why all this effort and money on saving him and then keeping a 'suicide watch'?

The man is a monster - just let him go or allow the other prison inmates to do what they want. They have tried.

Do you think his latest attempt was accidently on purpose allowed to happen?

What gets me is that IAN HUNTLEY could be released from jail after serving his 40 year sentence.
Why not let this evil child rapist killer stay in a prison cell for the rest of his miserable life.

He takes overdoses because he hates being in prison and he wants people to think he is repenting-maybe then he can get out on parole. He overdoses because he hates being in prison and he wants to kill himself because he hates himself for being caught. I do not think he is tortured by his conscience. People like him do not have one.

Nickie , the nation needs an army for its own security , the army generally fights and does kill . Soldiers are trained not to sing or dance but to kill when necessary.
You mention Iraq , that is a sore point , as far as I see the gravest of all errors the West made was to presume that these people need democracy and that Saddam the Sadist the Tyrant the murderer was bad for them , in fact what they need right now is another ruthless dictator to establish a state of fear and executions without trial . Simply Nickie the Wets over estimated the aspirations of the Iraqi people. Democracy and human rights does not figure very high in their list of priorities , they are all bloody zombies and we should get out and let them kill each other , but we do need the oil.

My thoughts at this time are for the parents of Holly & Jessica. They are trying desperately to get on with their lives and all of a sudden, by this maniacs attempted suicide, it is all brought back to them. Why do the press follow his every movement. I know they want to sell newspapers, but really through someone else's pain and suffering.

I agree that suicide is to good for this evil monster, they should let the other prisoners get at him, then maybe he will feel the pain he put those 2 innocent kids through.

I believe they will never let him out, he will be like Ian Brady, another maniac, they will be afraid to let him out. So lets hope he rots away in prison for the rest of his miserable life.
