Now that the Orams have won, what does the future hold ?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Oh, I forgot! They were all University student! highly educated.

tell us more lies VP.

None, the settlers that live here in the TRNC all have homes to go to and the seasonal workers are all sending money back to their loved ones to build homes, educate their children. The scenario you paint is what you want to believe it is, it has no relation to reality.

Pyrpolizer,
I thought you couldnt bring in Sri Lankans any more as they are non EU. Possibly Poles or other EU countries.

Who cares what is going on and how the "TRNC" system works. It is an illegal regime that is established through military force and will be dissolved sooner or later. I do not understand why we even care of what is going on in your Turkish nationalistic protectorate...

There is nothing the matter with Piratis's grammar , indeed his command of the English language is far superior to yours Stuartn , Im sure you will agree to this. Are you a Sun READER ?

I maintain my stance and refute your assertion - and an educated review of postings will bear this out. You are obviously acquainted with the Sun... Unfortunately I am not. Please elaborate.

You are right Issy. However those who are currently here are allowed to stay until their contract expires. So after 4 years there will be no ShriLankas, Indians, or Bagladeshis here. Nice people, polite, but sorry to say totally incompetent at any job which is beyond plain labour.

However even a polish gets about 200 CYP per month. The minimum a TC plain labourer gets at construction sites is exactly the same as that of a GC i.e 525 CYP. There is a construction site next to my house that the building contractor is a TC. He comes everyday with his own trucks all having the name of his company in Turkish written on, and he also brings his own TC workers. He is a Boss! Imagine how much money he must be making…

NB. My point to VP still stands. VP does not appreciate RoC’s good will gestures and takes them for granted. The TCs could be replaced by Polish at half the cost. And believe me it’s not that easy for any government to go against the capitalists. In fact it may one day be impossible for RoC to stop the capitalists from replacing the TC labourers with Polish…

Arent you being rude here miltiades? should I respond in the same manner? People have to subscribe to being just a Cypriot and unfortunately you do not have that support. The majority on both sides continue to see themselves as Turkish and Greek Cypriots. You do not like to hear the realities of Cyprus so you attack me personally a person who live on this island and not miles and miles away dreaming of a brotherly Cypriot love. I only know the TRNC and do not see the "RoC" as representing me as a TC, the south is run by Gcs for GCs with ideals that do not match mine. Better to live divided and content than united and discriminated against as second class citizens in your own country.

VP,
I am sorry but I have to disagree with you on the point that there is a Cypriot race (possibly nation might be a better description even though we are divided). I think there are Greek speaking Cypriots and Turkish speaking Cypriots but we both have more in common with each other than our mainland cousins. That there is a religious and political division between is obvious and regretable but I as a TC see myself as a Cypriot first and foremost.
