How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Piratis
I am hardliner?
I support: legality, international law, human rights, democracy and equality of all people regarding their ethnic background, color, language etc.

On the other hand you support illegality and violation of international law, along with violation of human rights. You also refuse to accept democracy for Cyprus and you want Cypriots to be disproportionally split based on their race, something that last time happened in South Africa with Apartheid.

Your views are not only hardline, they are also extremist and racist.

You had a chance in 1960 to prove you could live under the above principles, you messed up big time. Now you want to retunr to a situation where you can use your numerical superiority to reduce our community to the level of just another minority group in our own country. Well if we are ever to mix again we want guarantees that will make sure you do not attempt to dominate, control and discriminates against TCs. We do not trust GC administered human rights and democracy...noway.

We support the peaceful existence of all Cypriots be it Gcs or Tcs just like we have been experiencing the last 32 years. If you can show and prove that this can be continues by uniting feel free to show us dont hold back.

Oh c'mon, give us a break! You came here to make propaganda, and you were afraid to disclose that from the very beginning, pretending the naive newcomer outsider!

Viewpoint: I totally agree with you. The mind boggles at how anyone can even begin to try and draw up a conciliatory agreement with these totally prejudiced people, who preferred 'Cyprus' when the TCs "knew their place" rather than have the audacity to actually ask for some rights. Actually one of the books I read on the history of Cyprus denegrated Turkey for being so long in INTERVENING. After all, if Turkey had really wanted to 'invade' rather than protect the TCs, who were being threatened with genocide, WHY DIDN'T THEY TAKE THE WHOLE ISLAND???? Even with the UK and Greek armies/forces combined they could not have stopped the Turkish army from doing exactly what they wanted to do so why did they stop?????? Answer: they wanted to protect the Turkish Cypriot peoples from annihilation. Just shows the 'spin' that's been put out into 'the wide world' when GCs now state it was their peoples, who were in danger of being ethnically cleansed. (If there were any advances on that front they were from the Greek mainland; not Turkey.)

This person arrogantly thinks that by just reading one Turkish propaganda book, probably the “Genocide files,” he or she is cable to come here and start talking about the Cyprus problem, and even “offer” “ideas” and “suggestions.” Cukoo, at least wait until you read 2 books, before trying to do what you think you can do here!

Marsden one thing you may not have picked up on is that TCs never promote getting rid of Gcs altogether (Taksim being an example of this) whereas their policy is always to encourage us to leave the island or assimilate us into their numerical advantage or even anniahalation. We have always accepted we are unable to live and share the island together so why not live seperately and share the island this way which has worked for the last 32 years even though they have grabbed recognition we are still able to create space for ourselves where we do not feel threatened or second class citizens. They continue to claim human rights for themselves but never consider that they are currently also denying us ours.

Cuckoo, I will not bother you more. I will only recommend you a couple of books to read that are not Turkish propaganda like the “Genocide” Files you read, but more independed and objective in their approach. After you read and consolidate them, then you are welcome to come and talk about anything you like. Until then, I do not think we have much to discuss.

Kifeas: Don't patronise me - you have no idea how many books I have read on the subject. I have not been arrogant - far from it - but your attitude towards me simply endorses your condescension towards anyone, who fails to agree with you. The GCs bullied the TCs for eons - the TCs were 'allowed to exist' provided they served their so-called 'betters' and fitted in where they were allowed a morsel of 'space'. Well, time has moved on my 'friend'. The more Brits that move to the North, the more they will pass word back to the 'outside world' of the actual details rather than what has, to date, been the 'accepted truth'. Make the most of it while you can... the worm is turning.

Viewpoint: Sorry, I didn't want to suggest that the TCs wanted to annihilate the GCs - I simply wanted to illustrate that Turkey was here to protect the TCs rather than take over completely. Apologies again (no idea what Taksim is); yes, my knowledge of what has gone on in the past is limited but it doesn't take a brainsurgeon to work out who's got the most powerful propaganda m/c here. Chok memnum oldum, arkadashim.

Kifeas: So take it these are the Greek propaganda equivalents of the GF? Is that the only book you know that illustrates the TC side of things? If so, I can quote you some more.

Shame Cyprus can't agree to disagree - like us!
