Only flown with them once (well, return, so guess 'twice') - inflight entertainment was excellent (pretty similar there and back... but, hey, they offer 'learn Greek' on one of the radio channels - how brilliant an idea is that?!) Food was pretty good too... well better than a lot of the others I've had. Flight was on time so, all in all, a good experience. Will be booking with them again shortly so hope it wasn't just a 'lucky first'!

Don't confuse Cyprus airways with Helios Airways. If your knowledge on the issue is not enough, please do not participate

Judge_Jim don't confuse Cyprus airways with Helios airways. And change your name to something else.

I flew back to the UK for a couple of days last week with CA.

I haven’t used them for a year or so (in fact I haven’t been back to the UK for a year or so) and was interested to see if they had changed at all (I’d heard some bad press about service).

Flew Larnaca-Heathrow Wednesday economy class and was very impressed with the level of service, the food, free booze and the general attitude of all the staff. They even brought around glasses of water for everybody just before landing at Heathrow which is a nice touch.

Flew Heathrow to Larnaca on Friday business class in the front of the A330. Was extremely impressed by the level of service, the food was lovely, plenty of good quality wine or champagne in real glasses and all served on chine ‘plates’ with metal cutlery. After landing we had our own coach to the terminal and the luggage came off first too.

Overall I’ll give Cyprus Airways 10/10 for the trip both ways.

I think some negative incidents like pilot strikes can sometimes give airlines a bad name even when they are very good. I traveled many times with Cyprus Airways and never had a problem.

CY are my favourite airline. I have always found the staff pleasant and feel at home as soon as I board. The seating is good and the only time I had bad food was on a flight via Brussels - a mistake I won't repeat. The only problem I can see is their finances and the constant threat that they will go out of business. I still rate their magazine as the best Inflight magazine.

I always use Cyprus airways for the main holiday and the cheapest I can find for the odd weeks break that I can slip away for.

I'll agree with the lack sense of humour --- saw one attendant smile when I was returning to the UK a couple of weeks ago  --- but I could have imagined it or perhaps she had wind

I've been upgraded to business class quite a few times now and must admit been very impressed with the level of service -- it's a different world to cattle class -- pity I can't afford to travel that way all the time.

i have flown with cyprus airways for 16 years and find their service comfortable and unforgettable. Flight attendants are not always pleasant but they can't all be nice! I always feel safe fluying with CA.

*Also, i found that the formerly known Helios Airways (now Ajet) staff were very pleasant and their service, i must admit is very nice.

bill,
please let me know how you managed to be up-graded!!

agree with the lack of humour and pleasantries from the attendants, but then they probably know the salaries the pilots get in comparison to other airlines- possibly why CA charges so much more!
