A Cyta press release said that Vodafone does not intend to operate in the northern territory under its own trade name. It also noted that Vodafone itself does not operate in the southern government controlled areas, and does not participate in the development and operation of Cyta’s mobile network.

Should international companies be allowed in the occupied areas?

I dont know if there would be something we could do about it, but even there was, why would you want to make the TCs life even more difficult than it already is?

Vodafone is in a mess after the scandal with the wired phones in greece, it does not need any other problems in its arse.

Actually its because Cyta wont make a roaming agreement with any of the turkish cellphone companies...

I work for a british offshore bank based in Nicosia, and I travel mainly to Egypt, but also 3-5 days per quarter in Istanbul as I have about 300 customers there..
