Was he the incredibly enthusiastic character? That's a huge shame, he was excellent, and I think he did a lot to educate people about reptiles.

I remember one cute episode where he kept chasing this adder - very poisonous snake - and finally, the adder was so bored and annoyed that Irwin wasn't scared of him that he sort of submitted to Irwin's attentions with this resigned air about him. It was as if he was saying 'yes, I am the most poisonous snake on the planet but what can you do?" :)

I'm quite gutted at the news. He was a real character. Used to watch his documentaries back in England whenever they were on.
He leaves a young family behind, never getting to know their daddy :(

RIP Steve Irwin, gone but never forgotton.

When asked about his favourite child hood programmes, Steve Irwin replied ' Skippy was great, but there will always be a place in my heart for Stingray"

About the crocodile hunter guy Hazza, may he rest in peace. Dont know if you read or not but he died today from a stingray bite. I loved watching the crazy guy and wish his family the best.
