Questions for Moaning Cypriots

Postby Biker » Sun Sep 03, 2006 9:28 pm

Why do Cypriots who dislike the British need to come to an ENGLISH language forum to do the moaning?

Why do they get so defensive about any criticism of Cyprus?

Why can they only reply to a criticism with one of their own (relevant or not) or say "if you don't like it leave"?

Aren't there any Greek language forums they can do the whining on?

Why do Cypriots who dislike the British need to come to an ENGLISH language forum to do the moaning?

Because it's an English forum, and English people visit it. No point in bitching on a Cypriot forum, because they won't get the desired effect.

Why do they get so defensive about any criticism of Cyprus?

Because those that do get offended are simply arrogant.

Why can they only reply to a criticism with one of their own (relevant or not) or say "if you don't like it leave"?

The problem is, Cyprus is such a small place, and although they've got the trappings of other major countries, they are not worldly. They are insular, and to compound it, lack social skills.

This does not apply to EVERY Cypriot person, though.

Cypriots just don't like YOUR bitching that is never ending. And why isn't your "criticism" polite? You don't do criticism but you attack us like you do in this thread again! If there is something that we don't like about our country we will change it ourselves. We don't need your offensive "criticism"

Yes, but I AM CYPRIOT, and this is my country too!

"If there is something that we don't like about our country we will change it ourselves." Ourselves?? As in, us Cypriots? Again I'll say... I am Cypriot!

So quick to assume I am English. tsk tsk.

What makes you Cypriot? You don't seem to love Cyprus and you always support the British. Were you born and grew up in Cyprus?

Well the truth is usually the truth in any language, and i am not proud of countries whether its my own or anyone elses that abuse human, animal, or any other rights and decency you can think of. You will never stop people complaining about it and while people think something is ok they wont feel the need to change it.

Don't you think that
Cyprus would still be a land of farmers, if it weren't for the English or other people that come to the Island. How many famlies do we support with our spending the in the restaurants and shops. Also the investment into the country buying property and paying the relevent taxes. A lot of the Cypriots driving around in BMW etc would still be on their donkeys if it were not for our investment, no affense intended, just being honest. At the end of the day, it does not cost money to be polite, when dealing with people, customers, when it comes to a problem. I have found that the Cyprus people are fine while you are spending your money and lining their pockets. If you are not, they can be very rude, and treat you like something on the bottom of their shoes. Not everyone is like this......by any means. I have seen cases where English people can be just as bad. But please remember, we are in Europe now which means we are all the same! This means also that their are certain rights that everyone has and certain standards that everyone has to live to, in harmany hopefully....don't kill the golden goose as it were......
