why are you all so up tight?

over the last week there are very few topic's where you lot aren't at each others throats, isn't there enough fighting in the world, and this is the whole problem everyone wants to be right, a little give and take never hurt anyone.

Or maybe everyone has had too much sun, i think some of you should take a cold shower.

So Lysi you live in the UK ? That invalidates all your rantings ! Thanks for the chav link it was really funny. Many British are leaving because of the problems at home but luckily your just getting the good ones who are anti-chav. It seems here in Cyprus you also have the problem of rowdy youths just check out all those modified cars with big exhausts. They have clearly never travelled but have come to the same conclusions . The chav epidemic im afraid is a sign of our times and is a worldwide dilemma. Do you realise how many Cypriuts reside in the UK ?

Chedda, you must have a geat mind cos I was thinking exactly the same as you. How many Cyppos live in UK? Green Lanes is "Little Cyprus". I don't have a problem with that but I think Lysi and Sotos have a bloody cheek to complain about Brits in Cyprus when there are so many in the UK, live and let live.

How many Cypriots that live in the UK don't speak English? How many want to change the UK to make it more like Cyprus? I don't think that many

i know of loads of cypriots that dont speak engish in england sotos.they live in there comunity so why should they learn the lingo.and they cant change the uk to be like cyprus because there is not enough sun...

bigfatlondonboy, I have relatives in the UK and they speak English. Their children that were born there speak better English than Greek. Don't tell me that you know loads that don't speak English. If they didn't they would not be able to survive there!

my hubby's granma was in the uk for 36yrs and never learnt english, my sister in-law husbands parents don't speak english, so it does happen.
If they need any paper work doing etc they ask their kids or someone else that does.

Got to agree with sotos on this one. If anyone doesnt like the life in Cyprus they can always go home. Did the whingers not do their homework before they came to live on the Island? What gives them the right to try and overturn a culture and try and create a 'Little Britain' in the sun?
I've lived in Cyprus on and off for the last 30 years and have friends all over the Island. I've not had any antagonism towards me because I'm British but maybe thats because I've took time out to learn the language as best |I can and adapted to local customs and culture.
I honestly dont think that the vast majority of Cypriots have a problem with the British on the Island. Just the ones that can't or wont apapt

So, I have no right to whinge when The Cypriot Authorities made me pay cyp£600 for import duty for my car and now wont give me a registration number for it?

They are in breach of EU Freedom of Movement regulations making me pay Import Duty, and now they wont give me a registration number... I think I have a right to whinge frankly...

Not all whinges are about it not being like england, some are about lejitimate concerns..
