Cyprus did not enter the EU to become richer. The reason number one we entered the Union is because we have a huge undemocratic country next to us that threatens us every day and for 30 years now occupies 1/3 of our country. The reason we entered the EU is security.

Still I agree with you that the state should make more to ensure the well being of all classes of people. We should put a break to this crazy capitalism.
