Turkey in the EU? At this rate, dream on.....

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Food is one of my passions, provided I cook it myself. It has a lot of Cypriotness in it, as well as, some of my special taste to go with it. Nothing fancy, just good food. You and Kifeas were able to "discover the ingredients" of the dish that I was cooking, so that means, I asked the right person(s) to give me their best take on it.

I got to be honest with you though. With all the "bad blood" between the Turks (Turkey) and the Greeks (Greece) over long period of time, island of Cyprus may be the new " Constantino - Istanbul " battle, all over again.!!

On the topic; the EU has just released a v. critical report on Turkey because of its stance on Cyprus, amongst other things. Update is on reportfromcyprus.com.

I don't know who doctors the news, but if you read reports on the iran situation where al-jazeera post a full transcript of whats been said by their illustrious leader, and then read cnn or bbc reports you would think they were reporting on different people...

an example...

Irans president says something like "israel has no right to exist at the expense of the palestinians" Al-jazeera report that...

BBC will report that irans president said "Israel has no right to exist..."

Kinda changes the context somewhat dont you think?

G.Man, I see your point. I believe that it's called 's&^@t stirring', something the media is very good at.

They win either way, if they take something out of context and it scares people, they'll have to buy the paper or watch the channel. But, they weren't inaccurate, just slanted.
