Postby ausbroker » Mon Aug 28, 2006 7:51 am

this question is to my fellow cypriots

i have read countless posts on the "illegal occupation by turkey" and the
horrific crimes of the greek junta" and quite frankly im here to settle this case once and for all

as a gc, let me tell you one thing.
the first thing i am going to say is CAN WE PLEASE STOP ARGUEING??

the reason i say that is because every case of this stupid gc,tc story keeps being pleaded by people WHO WERENT THERE!!!  yes shock shock.
so how the HELL can you claim to know everything about the damn junta
and the turkish occupation????
let me guess... you studied it??
you heard stories from your parents? YAWN.

il tell you guys what i know... "what i have been told by people that lived through the war"
the first thing is, is that the gcs that i know DID NOT SUPPORT the greek junta. yes shock  they did not. the greek junta was like a terrorist organisation, and they where KILLING GCS  and TCS annyone that opposed them.
SO MY QUESTION TO YOU GUYS IS
what do the tcs really think of the turkish occupation??

The Greek junta first terrorised its people in Greece. The Greeks were reduced to occupied beings scared beyond
comprehension of the junta. I visited Greece many times during those years and what was apparent was the widespread fear that existed. Visited remote places in Halkidiki in the days before a single tourist set foot on its soil and yet that bloody signs "ELLAS ELLINON XRISTIANON "" H EPANASTASIS IPIRXE ISTORIKI ANAGGI "
were everywhere and no one had the guts to tear one up. I bloody well did and thought to my self if we resisted the Brits during 55-59 why not resit the Greek junta.

For me the biggest shock was the wide acclamation and support the Junta received by the Greek people. I expected millions of Greek people to stand up and be counted. They did not. Some because they were scared, others because they thought highly of the junta. Today, everyone you ask may say that he fought against the junta.

its like in cyprus , if you add up the thousands of "agonistes" and the thousands of "antistasiakous" , is simply amazing.
if only those numbers were not falsified by the outcomes themselves ....

Those that are not "agonistes" or "antistasiakoi" are ... saints. I can hardly think of another nation on eart with so many home grown saints.

For your information the Junta was government for 7 years. This does not mean it got support, it simply got obedience as any other government even a military one. Ou have to count the people who were expelled from Greece and the people who were chased by Junta. Then the number of dead people when the Junta started attacking its own people.

Obviously you are one of the few millions who TODAY stand up to be counted opposing the Turkish Junta that occupies our country.

NB. I noticed you drag "to anipshi sou" everywhere you write to back you up...

I don't think that anyone here has ever said, no matter what their nationality, that the Turkish occupation of Cyprus is legal.

There is a lot of opposition to these troops, from all sides. But you tell me, who can fight them? Realistically? Only diplomatic efforts will make a difference at this stage.

There are many agonistes and antistasiaki. Why are you trying to ridicule them? Because they fought against your interests?

Those real fighters have my respect. However we are not all courageous heroes. So many of us would not risk their lives for those ideals. However at least most people support those ideals and honor those heroes that fought for them risking their lives.

On the other hand, there are also some traitors, that fought against the democratically expressed wishes of the Cypriot people.

Such traitors existed in the past (EOKA B, those that collaborated with the colonialists etc) , and unfortunately they exist today as well.
