Marsden C , what makes you think that the AP plan was u "unification plan" I opposed the plan , and I suggest you read it a little more and point us to where in the plan was unification an option. Come on now , the plan was fatally flawed and the No voters did Cyprus a favour. The plan would have collapsed with catastrophic consequences .
Unification means one government , one President , one police authority , one Transport minister , one justice minister , I could go on and on. I'm a dedicated Cypriot and love all my Cypriot brothers and sisters Greek and Turkish , provided they are first and foremost Cypriot. Are you one ?
Let me know if you can not access the AP plan I can provide you with a link.
Finaly welcome to the forum and look forward to reading your constructive views on our Cyprus.

Hi Miltiades, no I'm not a Cypriot - I'm an 'incomer Brit' (but a nice one I hope!) - Annan Plan far too complicated for me (thanks for the offer) but life is for living; not arguing. Wars are wrong - evils on both sides. No guarantee (in my book) anyone gets a 2nd chance at life so make the most of whatever life deals you!

Hopefully peace (and the best solution possible) will reign on the island!

PS: Thanks for the welcome!

PPS: My very best constructive advice would be (as a mum) - I'd bang all your heads together and deprive you of your toys until you all agreed to behave!!
(sorry, as Oscar Wilde wrote: "I can resist everything but temptation")

Don't you believe it: my husband's about to lose his pride a joy 'toys' (1960's juke box - not to mention his slate bed pool table) - we're moving and no space!!

Sometimes life is really sad

PS: (again - sorry - told you I was new to the BB) Who's Lysi? And, why a special thread to let him know he's needed - doesn't he know already?

Christine,

it is crystal clear, Nigel is the usual barbarian alcoholic brit. he lives in a stolen land in North Cyprus and probably he spends the time of his life hanging around with convicted persons like this Gary ROBBery guy. If you want to join this gang, it's up to u, but u must have in mind that those ppl live in an illegal state and that justice is after them,

EU.... 666: So, you're saying Lysi is Nigel? Methinks with a handle like yours  maybe you've got one or two things in common?

Hi Christine

Firstly, let me welcome you to the 'South', I trust you will find us a lot warmer and friendlier than those on the 'TRNC Boards' would have you believe - though you will find the occasional 'militant' here, as you will in any group of people.

To answer your question: Nigel is in the North and Lsyi is...well no-one knows where Lysi is... Lysi's family has lost land in the North and she feels very strongly about the matter. She gets a bit carried away in her anti-Britishness, but you soon get used to it.

Going slightly OT, one thing you will notice here is that wihile the Brits on the TRNC Boards spend their time demonising Greek Cyptiots and espousing all sorts of non-existant conspiracy theories, you will not find Brits here attacking Turkish Cypriots. I have my thoughts as to why this is, but that will be for another time.

Dear Euro666

<<Nigel is the usual barbarian alcoholic brit>>

This comment is verging on a racial stereotype, which I think is totally unfair.
