Which are the popular bars or clubs?

Which are the recommended eateries.

I think I know Larnaca well but when I went last November I couldn't really find anywhere that had more than 2 people in it.

I'll be there for the first 2 weeks of September so hopefully should be much busier. I just want good music and good atmosphere.

Any recommendations?

Plus I want a few nights Bouzoukia, are there any left?, I used to go to Venus on McKenzie Beach, still there?


ps. Is club Memphis still there? And Iguana?

yes I want to know too......prefer an older crowd (no gogakarous)....no 15yr olds........
what about the Greek clubs where the locals go - do people still dance on tables??

Like a mug I went and bought an apartment on dhekelia road when it was busy and now it doesnt even have cars going past.

Venus is still going.
Dhekalia Road is pretty dead although Iguana is still there. Anyone remember Stringfellows on Dhekalia back in the 80's/90's?
Memphis is still there, but has been renamed and is 2 clubs now. (Anyone remember it when it was Cloud 9?)
The coffee drinkers seem to make up the majority of people out and about in the evenings. There is a new club where the old cinema used to be opposite Preserve called Dracula. Very nice club. Older crowd with a strict door policy. CCTV and you get buzzed in. Basically, if they don't like your face they won't open the door
Circus is still around as is Preserve and Karma.

I think it was called Stoa Cinema. It's where the Body Shop used to be.

No way, I've refurbished it totally and won't let any ruffians mess it up. Its right on the beach next to Golden Bay.

I remember Stringfellows, I was too young to go but those were the days when Larnaca was at its peak. Dekelia was so busy every night. Iguana was bursting at the seams. At one point the banned Karaoke from Larnaca because the residents flipped from the noise, it went downhill ever since. You are right about the coffee drinkers, finikoudes seems to be full of people that are scared to get their shoes dirty. I heard Venus has become and arab or russian club, is that right?

Tell me more about Circus, Preserve, Karma and Dracula.

Do people still go to Cozzi's?

they then set up another club further up Dhekelia rd, cant remember the name now....but that was happening back then!
brings back lots of memories........

Isnt venus the bouzoukia place in Mackenzie?? did that become a night spot

Ah those were the days, now it seems only strip joints have any movement and even that is mostly horizontal
