no not Jumping Jacks...
it had a marine theme and was shaped like a boat (well sort of) and had a huge outdoor area which was SO packed every weekend.......
was really great - lots of Nicosia people hung out there.....there was also another out door club on Dhekelia rd right near the sea....gosh cant remember now
but yeah lots of fun!! good old days LOL

now I'll be hanging out at the Finikoudes with the people who dont dirty their shoes.....

LOL, If you can't beat em join em eh.

Looks like I'll have to be driving up to Napa and Limassol to get Vodka on my shoes. I'll be with the missus this year so I am sure it will be a far more placid experience anyway.

Having stayed on Dhekelia Road last month, I can confirm that the Iguana is dead, all the bars along from it are dead apart from Maximillian which is popular at the weekends for the karaoke (they get warned by the police most evenings). Wasn't there a buzzing bar called Koko up opposite Palm Beach? That seems pretty dead aswell.

Why has Dhekelia Road died on its arse then?

Do you mean Kokomo?

Its quite tragic whats happened, there was a time where you couldnt even a get a room in Larnaca from so many tourists and now the hotels are like ghost towns.

Circus isn't bad if you book a table other wise you feel you're at a school disco. Karma's the same, but too dark. Preserve isn't bad as tends to overflow onto the street and the crowd is older.

Dhekalia rd has definately died. There are too many pubs and bars along there offering a punter the lame night out with the same eng/cyp crowd.

Cozi's....oh dear God! The last time i was there was about 6 years ago. Full of eng/cyps with their trousers round their knees and chains from Ratners..... Very sad times.

Venus is still very Cypriot. Not russian although some of the locals turn up with their russian girlfriends.

I do mean Kokomo, yeah.

The trouble is, if you look through tourist brochures for package deals here in the UK, you never see Larnaca on offer anymore - it's all Napa, Protaras, Limassol and Paphos. Compared to Kato Paphos, where I also stayed last month, Larnaca is a ghost town.

Larnaca has always been a lot quieter - I worked in travel for 3yrs during my stay in Cyprus
and it was never as popular as the other towns....I remember Mackenzie used to be really busy, not sure what that area is like these days.....

Twinkle - Its been 10years since Ive been to Cosi's...Im suprised its still around!
it was always a pretty trashy place to hang out
a distant Uncle saw me in there once and told my grandparents to forbid me to go there again LOL
it was pretty gross - lots of piss heads - I remember an english cypriot girl so drunk she pee'd on herself on the dance floor - disgusting!!

Why would anyone ever go to McKenzie beach in the daytime? The beach was full or rabbit droppings and you could see actually smell and see aeroplane fuel in the water. Horrible place. I used to walk that beach at night after leaving Venus at 4am and there were bats and rats everywhere.

As for Cozzi's well, there was a bit of a drug scene going on there hence it attracted some bad crowds, I still went with my own crowd simply because it was the only place outside Napa that played RnB.
