this is a good topic, because i too am very sad at present. in the past, i would just get high (smoke some marijuana) but that doesn't really help me move thru it, it just kills the pain for the time being. i don't smoke pot anymore. right now i feel like crying, and that might be good to just get it out. i have done what i have to today, and the rest of the time i have been in bed...but that doesn't help much either. it's so draining to be sad. so i say: GO SHOPPING! or just get out and do something that just uses up alot of physical energy.

I have yet to find a better solution than an incredibly fast drive with the roof down and stereo up in through London at 3am. The feeling of freedom is incredible, the ultimate mind clearer, the ultimate perspective giver, the ultimate lift.

yes driving with the radio/Cd on is a good thing........
surround yourself with your 'happy' things - things that make u feel good,
grab a friend and go out, chat, eat, have a laugh
have a coffee, put some music on, watch film clips and have a dance by yourself in front of the tV LOL

the question is what do you usually do to overcome this feeling? are you trying to go around and relax? or maybe to talk to a friend? what are you doing when you are sad?

Bambina,

i have some fantastic self hypnosis cds, its not what you think or what you see on tv, all that brainwashing crap.

I have one for positive thinking and relaxation.
They are so good and have really help me look at things in different ways.

I bought one on the off chance and thought i would try them, they were so good that I bought more of the cds but for different things.

have you thought of anything like that to help you?

xx

Music is good for me too. I pick a cd with music that brings back happy memories or with an upbeat rhythm. Works most of the time. If I am in public, I force myself to smile and that usually works.

I yell at my husband that sits there and lets me do it. It was his idea. After 2 minutes I am done and feel better. :D
