There or their?

Please use the correct word.

Their - posession/belonging to
There- i am going over THERE

Newspaper headline.............British army pulls out of cyprus! Turkey takes over Cyprus.

Have you considered this possibility. Perhaps you'd prefer that. Never mind all the cyps who'd lose all their jobs and money and end up on the dole..........bla bla bla bla bla.

There's enough material here for an entire conference!

We CYPRIOTS can cope without the FREE BRITISH BASES, the BRITISH military is not liked in CYPRUS.
The BRITISH ARMY are not welcome in CYPRUS.

Prison population of UK, per 100,000 population is 139
" " " Cyprus " " is 56

By comparison, the figures for the US are 686 and Russia 636, per 100,000 population.

I imgaine this excludes those in Russian Labour Camps and down the Salt Mines LOL!

"Scumbags" is too weak a word!

Britain may well have the highest crime rate in Europe, i dont know.
We lock up less people PER CRIME than other countries like Spain etc. so that might explain it!

The British Govt. has messed it up by allowing earlier releases and not building more prisons as required to deter criminals.

However, the Cypriot Govt. is even more of a joke!

In this case a mere 12 years each was served for kidnap, attempted gang rape and murder. A gang conspiracy like that is even more horrible than when a single psychopathic individual is the perpetrator. "If she had been Cypriot it would have been war" said many Cypriots. Next time it probably will be.

The week those 3 vermin were released another 3 Brits were taken in for running over and killing a Cypriot 17 year old, allegedly conspiring to kill another as well. Thats what happens when you cheapen the value of innocent human life by not having robust prison sentences as a detterent to murderers, but in this case its the Cypriot Republic's fault NOT the British. (Not that i think the British bases have any right to be in Cyprus).

How long in prison do you think those soldiers would have served in either of the occupied zones Lysi?

Justice, either in Cyprus, the UK or most of the Western world has become something the average tax-paying citizen has little of.
The law abiding, hard working people of our nations are raped by unfair taxation; they are forced to support the lazy & the criminals reap the benefits. There is absolutely no detterent to serious crime. There is no justice for the families of the abused & the murdered. There are more support groups in the UK for murderers than for the victims & their families.
We live in a world gone mad!

Petty squabling about spelling, grammar, syntax & so on are hardly beneficial to serious debate regarding such issues as murder, rape & abuse. An international internet based forum brings together people from all over the world, sharing views & opinions. We use English as a convenient universal language of communication; therefore British people posting should not make fun of grammatical errors.
We should be proud that such a varied collection of people are at sharing their views in English.
Anything else is simply a sign of low intelligence, coupled with having nothing of substance to say, other than a waste of space & time.

Mario......... what is squabling?

I, (and many others) are sick of lysi and her virulant and poisonous remarks that offend most people on here.

Her agenda is to hate. Full stop. And you support that under 'sharing views and opinions'. Don't make me laugh. Not that there is much chance of that with comments like you have made.
