Did anyone read in the Cy Weekly or Cy Mail about the qualitative survey done by Dr. Dino Domic at Cyprus College? It had to do with why so many Cypriot men are marrying Slavic women. Not having read the survey report, it's hard to tell if the newspaper articles didn't give all the details or if the survey itself didn't provide them. My main question was, is there really an increase in this phenomenon or was it purely anecdotal observation?

i read as i understood they were interviewing only men married on slavic women. there are 4 reasons why cypriot men marry slavic women 1) slavic beauty
2) slavic women value what their men give to them, cypriot women always ask more
3) cypriot men can discuss with slavic wifes a wide range of topics, with cypriot wifes its impossible ( slavic women are more clever )
4) slavic women are better in bed

I think the main reason is that since the 90s we have many Slavic people in Cyprus. And since they are of the same orthodox religion such marriages become easier than with other kinds of foreigners. In general Slavs are considered much closer to us than Arabs or western Europeans.

Slavs are considered much closer to us than Arabs or western Europeans.

if i got the article right, eastern european women were included in this slavic group in research

My question: is it really a big issue? I know many women from North America, Sweden, England, France, Spain, Italy, Australia who have married Cypriots. When I first arrived here, I noticed many Cypriot men married to Philippina women. So the number of men who have married Slavic - or Eastern European women - is it a significant number? Is it first marriage or second? Do they meet here or when studying abroad? Are there children... Have these questions been dealt with in the survey?
And I know many who are happily married to their Cypriot wives. In other words - each to their own!

I haven't seen the other threads, although i did a brief search. Dms007 - please let me know what title the other threads run under. Thanks.
