Kifeas , I think Apollonios is making an issue out of realities existing on our island. If we continue down the road of Nationalism unrelated to the Cypriot identity , and if the T/Cs also continue down this road , then the end is predictable , the present stalemate will revert to a permanent partition with Greeks on one side and Turks on the other. Not Cypriots , but Greeks and Turks. All of us know the demographics of our island. No solution based on mere demographics will ever come to fruition. We should address the "trust" issue as a matter of urgency , the opening up of the borders is a step forward , removal of passport control will encourage sceptics such as my self to visit the occupied part. Why on earth isn't there a politician in Cyprus with the vision required to begin the process of creating an all Cypriot party to embrace all Cypriots , a party that will concentrate on the Cyprus issue looked at by Cypriots not T/Cs or G/Cs. Such parties exist world wide , a perfect example is the UK. Why are the English not demanding , being the majority , that they control the majority government posts.
The decease of our nation is our perceived motherlands and for as long as the Cypriot identity is only promoted on IDs and Passports and not in the hearts of the people , division will carry on.
Our famous sportsman , Markos , would have made a huge contribution to our nations efforts for a solution to our problem if only he promoted the Cypriot identity as against his statement of us being the same as the Hellenes.
Finally let me put this question to you . Supposing you were a politician trying to unite Cyprus. How many of our T/Cs compatriots do you think would cast their vote for your party.
I think a great deal would vote for my party if it included a number of T/Cs , do you not agree.
