Distance suppose to grow hearts fonder.[/quote]

that's what i am hoping for. but i am here in NY and he is laying around on some beach in larnarca looking at babes in bikinis. i do not think he is thinking of me.
so i hope that saying about "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" is true, and i am giving hims some time to think about it. that is why i want to ask him next month....

You may be idolizing a culture that you do not know. Cyprus is a very different place than New York. The many posts about it being a 'close' society is true but many times it is also a 'closed' society. My dear do not suffer yourself over a man who you say does not want you.

Why don't you give the Turkish Cypriot a chance, instead of jumping back in the fire again with a Greek man. I'm not saying the Turkish man is going to be any better, but at least you can say you have experienced Cypriots, and put it down to " been there done that", and move on to another country.!!!

no, he hasn't cut off ties. we email. he will return to NY for work on occasion, but it could be awhile, and he could be married by then.
i am definately NOT over the last one, the new one is just co-incidentaly greek (not cypriot)...
and exploring this site makes me realise i may be better off here. i love pets, i am self employed as a pet sitter/dog walker, and reading some of the other posts, and talking to my new greek friend, i don't quiet understand how cruel the greeks/cypriots can be to pets. i guess we just spoil them here in the states, and rightly so! it would just kill me to see any animal mistreated.... so i AM better off here....
