Why the flags...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Why the flags...

Hey, whats they point on the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot flags on the mountains that you can CLEARLY see on the way to Nicosia from the south?

It seems a but cruel... like they are trying to start something. A kind of "in your face" thing... a reminder to every refugee of what they did to them.

Exactly that. A reminder of the illegal occupation and the crimes that they continue to commit against Greek Cypriots for the last 32 years. Those that want partition are doing everything they can to make Greek Cypriots dislike Turkish Cypriots.

How about you whitewash the wall of shame with the slogan "A GOOD TURK IS A DEAD TURK" and we'll do the same to the flags?

I am sure you would-if you had the power to do it. But I am sure that there are bigger powers than me and you hidden behind those flags. As far as the wall goes, I thought it was determined that it is not there anymore, but I wouldnt know for sure as I dont live remotely close to the island let alone Nicosia and the wall.

I personally think, that the flag only rubs salt into the wounds of the GC's. I always said, that, never do anything that you would not want it to be done to you. If the GC's did this to the TC's, they too would be making a mistake. So I would say, bring down the huge flag and replace it with bigger than normal size flag on a large pole, just for the TC's to enjoy it.

Never seen the wall personally but am being told its still there.

As for the flags on the mountain face. I'd be glad to see them go.

I and many TCs agree that the flag is a symbol of our struggle and will only come down if or when we can agree a comprehensive solution where everything will be covered. Piece meal does not take the place for an overall solution and people should realize that the current status quo will go on for many years to come seeing that both sides have no real intentions of solving anything.
