I'm interested in the concept of no mediators between us and God, and in creating a personal relationship with the original spark of creative force. Too much talking gets in the way of real communication with God. I'm glad that religious leaders and prophets have had their close experience that moved them enough to devote their lives to the study of God, it's a worthwhile pursuit.

Good for them. It doesn't give them the right to declare that others have the wrong beliefs or to incite them to exclusionist policies. Even if they take the right, it doesn't mean they are right. It's a big universe - why fence yourself in?

Its one of lifes mysteries, is there or isnt there, no one can ever be sure, but i cant see that anyone is right or wrong, depending on what part of the world you are born or what religion you are taught as a child, thats the one you will believe. its all about conditioning, i believe the precepts are good, but its a personal thing, i believe in the connection between all life and my spirit is connected to everything. if i see a beautiful vista it fills my spirit, if i look upon nature it fills my spirit, but if i see cruelty and pain it can corrode my spirit, so i have to take time out in my life to replenish it, so i can face another day of heartache at the shelter..

More power to you, Unique, there's plenty of strength to be gained from nature and keeping your mind free.

Hey Unique Earthling, sorry If I offended you... Orthodox Christianity isn't 'my whole world' so to speak, I have my own opinion about Christianity, in fact I'm still forming one....there's some things within Christianity (and the church) that I agree with, other things that I don't agree with, and some things that I am still forming an opinion about... but I know of people that consider the church as playing a very important role in their lives....I guess different people have different opinions, that's what makes us human after all :D You don't need religion to be happy, as long as your living your life the way you want to live it, that's the most important thing!! For some people religion will play a role in their lives and that's fine, with others their lives won't include religion, and that's also fine, however one thing that I really don't agree with, and both religious and non-religious people do this, is how people try and impose their way of life on others, because their way of life is the 'correct way'....I guess what I mean is, some people are religious, and some people aren't, however you should never be forced to live in a way you don't want to live..... (Hopefully I'm making some sense...I think I've just started to ramble on a bit now...lol.. )

Peace!! :)

PS, Hey Rodosthenis :D , yeah I'm a Greek Cypriot....

No Natty its nice to hear your self searching and you dont offend me in fact very little does, i dont take anything personally, no one has that power to make me feel bad....... i dont know if you understand that concept, but i sometimes maybe dont put myself across very well, and leave out a lot of things that make me more understood as you feel when you speak from the heart.

Its all good the bad the good and the down right crazy... i dont believe you need a church to find your way, its within everyone to find the truth, and basically the truth is to be the best one can be, to reach ones potential, and sometimes we have to get rid of our conditioning to find the person we were meant to be, without the added imput of families issues and countries issues and our own..

if you were left on a desert island and were allowed to grow without any conditioning other than one supportive and loving individual who didnt impose dogma or any other belief system other than lovingly showing us how to love, how to think for ourselves, how to take personal responsibility for our thoughts feelings and actions, helping us understand that how we think, is how we will act, and that we could change our thoughts, because they were our own invention and those around us, especially significant others.

And told us that our fears were unfounded, and only stop us from achieving greatness, that our doubts were our enemy. And informed us that we were an incredible creation, and loved us for who we were and not for who they wanted us to be... parents, society, schools, religion who taught moulded you and added their own insecurities, teaching us through guilt and duty, threatening to with hold their love if we didnt conform to their idea of being right.

Acting out their hurt because we had let THEM down, instead of allowing us to find our own way, telling us that they know best, when in fact it was because of their own fears and doubts and conditioning, they parented how they were parented... never understanding that it was their own ignorance and couldnt look at the bigger picture because they had no experience.

So who would you all be Now!!

Hey Unique-earthling, I have to say, I do agree with you.....people should be allowed to make their own decisions, and if they want to be religious then they should be allowed to be, just like the people who don't wish to be religious....Sure people can 'guide' you, but at the end of the day you have to make your own decisions on how your going to live your life.....It's you life after all! :)
