Hi

I am new to this as this is my first time on the forum.I have a house in cyprus and have done for a few years.I would like to transport my car over to cyprus and i have heard all sort of stories about tax etc,I will not be a permanent resident so do you think i will have any problems.
Can anyone give me some advice.

Is this a reduction in tax on new cars, or the personal import of used cars or both ?.

If you are a resident and have owned the car for over 6 months in an EU country and have paid tax on it, then no Duty is payable but I take it you are anon-resident and I do not know if the same applied. I believe it does not.

The same tax (which rises expotentially with engine capacity) applies to new and used cars, although on the latter it is attenuated over ten years.
