Very sad to see the results of a survey printed in greek Cypriot paper Phileleftheros over the weekend. A number of children (11-12yrs old) at primary school were asked how they saw Turkish Cypriot children. The results were that over 62% see them as Poor, tight fisted, dirty, sinners, dark skinned and ugly.
Where on earth did they learn that? At their Mothers knee perhaps? While answering generally, they used words like invasion, invaders, slavery, and under occupation. They said that (adult) Turkish Cypriots had problems with bird flu, gambling and illegal trade.
I would be very interested to see the result of the same survey carried out in a primary school here!

I read the article and was in total shock. You would think they would portray the TC's in a positive way to encourage future generations integration. Instead they fill the minds and hearts of these young kids with hatred.

Those responsible, may it be the parents, teachers or priests should all hang their heads in shame. :evil:

62% not bad at all... i've seen kids in NC, reminded me of Gipsy tabor, maybe it was a gipsy tabor, dunno.

Oh I see - its an insult to TC children is it? Thats nice isnt it - perhaps you should "manuver" your foot from your mouth. Put a Greek Cyp 11 year old next to a Turkish Cyp 11 year and I guarantee you wouldnt know the difference till they spoke!
