RECENTLY VISITED CYPRUS....SINCE I GOT BACK TO THE U.K IVE BEEN TEXTING SOMEONE OVER IN CYPRUS ALOT AND AM WONDERING WETHER ANYONE KNOWS OF A CHEAPER WAY OF DOING THIS??? IM CURRENTLY ON AN ORANGE CONTRACT AND PAYING APPROX 20p A MESG??

ANY HELP WOULD BE EXTREMELY WELCOME!

Use a Cyprus SIM card is the cheapest way I know of

I am on Orange and it works out at 16p a message from UK to Cyprus. It's not too bad I think. Calls cost me around £6.00 for half an hour. Hey if you like the person it's worth the money!?

Actually I have another question. Does anybody know how you can get a multi lingual phone so you can text in Greek alphabet and also in English?

if yo ring cyprus you can speak for 3p per minuite (it used to be 1p)

the number you dial is ..08444624747 you then use the code 00357 then the number you are calling it is legal iv used it for 18 months

you can dial to mobiles and land lines in cyprus for that price ....but dont call from your uk mobile to cyprus only use your land line

Your friend could sign up to Cyprusexpatcalls, it will then cost you 7p to ring thier mobile and 4p to call thier landline a minute anytime, they still get to keep thier old number, but you are given a UK number for calls from the UK, they can register as many numbers as they like, and it doesn't cost anything, the new numbers are issued immediatly. Couldn't be easier. Businesses can sign up too!!

What you need to do (which may not be possible!) is to get the person in CY a British mobile phone, then your texts to them would be at UK rates (and it doesn't cost them to recieve) - then they txt you back from their CY mob.

A bit complicated carrying two phones, but a LOT cheaper.
