Besides nothing wrong with Blackpool either - right???

Blackpool is an absolute Shi*hole.
Full of Bagheads And Beggers. Going downhill fast mate.
Only stay here because the company I work for is based here. Beauty of the job though is I spend 50% of time in Cyprus.
Good Luck in whatever decision you make

Well my husband is a 'bbc' and we now live in cyprus ( im british ).
He has found it very hard and on a number of occasions has said he wants to go back to the uk. I dont want to as i find the quality of life here so much better.
But im not the one working every hour under the sun to earn enough to pay for the family. He works long hours for little pay and finds the system here hard work to get through. Also he is not looking forward to doing the army next year.
His greek has gone from terrible to very good as he has worked with cypriots since he has been here so i wouldnt worry about that. I know given the chance he would go back tomorrow but we are having our house built and our first baby is on the way so he is feeling a little more settled now.
I think you have to just try and dont shut all your doors in the uk as you may want to go back. Try looking on the bright side of cyprus though! Its has its low points like the uk but it also has gorgeous weather and it costs nothing to spend your evenings on your balcony or in your garden drinking wine, and nothing to spend your time off swimming in the sea. All the things you would plan in the uk but then it just rains so you end up inside watching tv agai!! Its safer here than in the uk and i know when i walk around at night i havent got to have eyes in the back of my head.
Its a slower pace here but when you adjust and stop expecting everything to be done on time its so relaxing.
Not a decision to be made lightly but life is what you make it. Cyprus cant be that bad or no one would live here!

Chin up, 3 months is going to go quick, a friend of mines husband used to go home and sleep. but he was in Paphos. The army is just a glorified boys club, and unfortunately not very well behaved from all accounts. Lots of soft mummies boys. God help us if we had another war, the only thing they learn is Borlotta (spelling) and Tavli. And then they bring their guns home and shoot their neighbours or families in an argument.

Most of my life has been living between Australia and Cyprus.Eventually I had to make the decision to where I want to live I chose Cyprus mainly because my family is here.
Well my opinion is its not so much the location but the people who you will be surrounded with that will make your life better.
Recently Ive been having second thoughts as it seems that Im not going anywhere here..jobs..friends..etc..
Well Good luck on your decision and only you know whats best for you.

fluffls - 95% are like that!

I'm a bbc. Moved here 6 years ago and wouldn't go back. Don't think you can change the way things are here. Intergrate and accept. Life is slower the people are nosey but genuinely care, the wages are cr@p but I wouldn't go back to London life. This is home!
