If you want to experience something that goes back to the dark ages, visit a cinema in Paphos, you will get the feeling you are sitting in an aircraft hanger, then the lights go out and its pitch black.. The film comes on the screen and is scratchy with lines going up and down it, you expect pearl and dean to come on at any second. The sound of the old reels whirr in the background, the sound is of really bad quality.. And just as your vision has adjusted to the bad quality and your ears adjust to the sound, the film just ends in the middle, lights go up and the guy in the box is frantically rewinding the tape and then puts the next one on and it resumes but.. not before some really bad adds are put on with trailers of whats coming soon.. After thats done and you have nearly forgotten what you saw before, the film starts again.. And it costs 4 pound..

Paphos cinema definately needs a good upgrade but I cant see the area warranting a 'multiplex' I dont think there is enough of a population to make it viable. As has been said Limassol has one (a much larger catchment area) and after all its only 40 minutes down the road.
