Because , frankly my dear , the West does not consider Israel a treat .Since the West leads the rest fall in line. Clear enough for you ? Those who live in the West and despise it and hope for its destruction have a perfect choice to make any time they choose and the sooner the better .We are infested by people who hate our way of life , and I say to them all , you don't like our Western values then piss off.
How about it Lysi , you have expressed many times your immense hatred of the West , well Iraq is looking for aid workers and Iran will also be on the look out soon , why not join them , or maybe Lybia, Egypt , Sudan too is a good place to be right now , why are you wasting your time in a country that you despise.
Miltiades are you the spokesperson for the ISRAELI MINISTRY FOR PROPAGANDA ?
Why do you try to defend the WAR CRIMES that israel are commiting in lebanon ? Your israeli pals are very good at killing lebanese women & children just like they did in 1982 when thay commited GENOCIDE in the palestinian refugee camps of SHATILLA & SABRA.
The israeli state also has a habit of commiting assination in other peoples countries. The violence done to lebanon will come back on israel.
Thanks for seeing the truth about the Middle East my friend Lysi! I am with you, and Simon and Theresa! :)

Hey Miltiades, I could be wrong, and i'm not saying that Greece, the junta, weren't at the very, very least partly responsible for what happened in Cyprus, but I read that just before EOKA happened, Greece actually approached the UN on the "Cyprus Issue"...although again I could be wrong....

Peace! :)

i agree with Natty
Peace to the world and its innocent people....love thy neighbour....

but I must admit Im leaning towards iran Forever's posts and Simon has some good points too

it seems like whenever a nation is giving anti-western responses it becomes a target or suspicious
the US govt has a 'My way or the highway' approach - Bush has actually said ' You are with us or with them (the Terrorists)
America is not perfect and after the Katrina destruction I think a lot of people realised America has many inland issues it hasnt addressed but seems to meddle in everyone elses business.

by sending more arms to Israel, America is adding fuel to the fire ...and then pledging money for aid relief. very hypocritical.

I dont feel Israel is the victim in this case, it has commited acts of aggression over the past several years
not to mention
4 times as many casualities on Palestine then Palestine has on Israel
Israel has shot, killed or imprisoned numerous Palestinian children for the "crime" of throwing stones.
Israel has several hundred Palestinian prisoners, including civilian women or children, while at the same time, justifying their invasion of Lebanon on the basis that Hazbollah took *two* of their soldiers hostage.
Israel has been constantly attacking Lebanon since the 60's.

when will all this end??

Natty we are talking about 1974 and the invasion of Cyprus by Turkey having been given the green light by the actions of the Junta who was not as you state above " at the very, very least partly responsible""
They were totally responsible they orchestrated the military coup that overthrew Makarios they installed Sampson the man that the Turks held accountable for many killings of T/Cs , and Turkey had the perfect excuse to invade. The junta bears the blame 100%.

USA + ISRAEL = GENOCIDE

Postby lysi » Tue Jul 25, 2006 11:49 am

The USA is stilll giving there puppy ISRAEL the green light to continue the murder of lebanese women & children.
Con artist RICE should be ashamed of herself for letting ISRAEL continue to destroy LEBANON and also the fact that the USA are rushing more weapons & bombs to ISRAEL to be used to murder the LEBANESE.
Also BRITAIN is still selling WEAPONS to ISRAEL just so BLAIR can make a profit from the WAR.

firstly welcome to the forum landi.

i would say i agree with the essense of your post.
i just isolated this sentence because i fell on an interesting article in BBC just now.

The Israeli army has been accused of using Palestinian civilians as human shields in an operation in northern Gaza.

According to the Israeli human rights group, B'tselem, six civilians including two minors were subjected to the illegal tactic during an incursion into the town of Beit Hanoun last week

Allegations over Israel's use of human shields have surfaced before. The last time they made headlines was during Operation Defensive Shield in the West Bank town of Jenin, four years ago.

The army denied its personnel systematically (so not every day) used civilians as human shields during that operation, but it did issue an order outlawing the practice. As did the Israeli High Court..

But Yekhezel Lain, research director with the Israeli human rights group B'tselem says they are worried those guarantees are now being eroded. He says the cases in Beit Hanoun last week are the first of their kind since the High Court decision.

"This was a very blatant violation of the prohibition of the use of human shields," he tells me. "It was just soldiers hiding behind the back of civilians who were held with force in their homes."

a general comment :

i am sure though that the israeli are doing it the "human" and "civilized" way.

bc, just like killing babies there is the "civilized" and the "barbarian" way to do it.

If true, then Israel is as despicable as Hezbollah. Israel does not have a history of using human shields. Let me rephrase, Israel does not have a
documented history of using human shields. In my long life, the conflicts and arguments never seem to change. They are just passed down to new generations.
