how much do they go for and where from?

Where are you based? The prices I will get you are for parts that are in the UK. Ebay is always a good option but I know a few guys that take M3's apart for parts. Gimme couple days.

PS. I'd prefer the 5 speed box from the 3.0, I have owned both and found the 5 speeder much nicer. The 6 is too notchy and noisey.

i need the gearbox shipped to Arizona in the US. although i can find them on ebay uk for as low as 200 quid, very few are willing to post it to the US. i prefer a 6spd as it will bump the value of my //M over there, since they only came out with 5spds

Are you sure it will fit? I know in the USA you guys get watered down models. We are talking about a 321bhp engine right?

Bloody Hijackers

:D

The chassis can cope with an M3 motor without problems, mine was gonna have a 450bhp cosworth turbo, but the import tax was rediculous, so we switched to bike engine...

If you want further info on MNR including a peek at an R1 powered gulf porsche coloured car for sale at £10,250 (gbp not CYP) goto http://www.mnrltd.co.uk/

Yes the bike engine is a pain to pull away with at times, you have to get the revs and clutch just right.. Not best around town at all, but any engine can be made to fit, and an 1800 ford zetec or a 1600 toyota 4age will make superb performers...

The difference with the bike is the power delivery and sequential box... go in a BEC and you want one immediately... You live with the pain round town for the fun outside of town..

Once I have fitted the new high capacity radiator and improved the cooling underbonnet I am sure I can arrange a few rides for interested parties..

If you do buy from MNR let them know I gave the details.. and yes they will build cars to order and deliver to cyprus

:D

PS as for your prediction about the gearbox, the car has a torque resiliant propshaft to take the strain and the lower gearing means the torque put thru the gearbox isnt any worse than the bike...

The record of these engines and gearbox reliability is very good, no worse than a bike used in a similar spirited fashion on a track..

Clutch however, is an issue...

You gotta decide if you wanna spend big bucks, last time I sent a gearbox to the states it was £600 just for the courier company. If I find the box can you arrange your own collection?

holy cow, 600 for just shipping is insane, hehe. i dont need it right there and then, so a month ride by boat is not an issue, and will cost a fraction of the mentioned 600. if i could arrange my own collection i would have picked one up from ebay but i dont know how to go about doing that. if its no trouble, can you find out how much they go for in the uk?

G.man, sorry for the hijack.

£400 - £600

I know of one at the moment for £1,000, bit expensive

Sometimes you get a deal like £1,100 for all parts, diffs, box and engine all included with looms etc.

G. Man you have a great car!!! Some time ago I searched around for the possibilities to get a Kit car here.....but no insurance companies were willing to insure it, just because it would not be assembled by a valid manufacturer.... Kindly let me know, when you have any positive news on this matter! Thanks

Mikros

The registration issue is pretty much sorted, so I can help people avoid that pitfall in future..

Insurance is a choice... ACT cover is easy, Third Party from Hydra (and I am working on pancyprian as well)...

Took her for another blast today, but the clutch is starting to struggle with all the hill starts I have to do..

HD clutch plates are next purchase i think

:D
