I heard it this year and last year. Last year it scared the hell out of me, then i realised what it was in aid of. It is my friends birthday the day the sirens go off and her husband used to tell her he arranged it to wish her a happy birthday. I think its an excellent way to remeber the day, and the fear i felt the first time i heard it couldnt even become close to how those felt back then when it was real.

I remember also wondering what was happening the first year I heard the sirens, but it quickly comes back to you the following year. I agree that it is a good thing to momentarily remember.
