CYPRUS LAW CONCERNING BUSINESS

Postby fox » Fri Jul 14, 2006 10:39 pm

Hi All
just need a bit of info concerning opening a retail business in Cyprus.
I want to run it as an entrepreneur and I just needed to have some idea of what the law entrails? Specifically concerning licensing, where do I apply for one and how long does it usually take for it to be approved.

Also is there a law concerning advertising using flyers and posters (do I have to request for permission to distribute my flyers or to stick up posters?)

Thanks

Hi Fox

Just the usual stuff:

register your company
register for VAT
register for Tax
register for Social Insurance payments

and unless you are following some specialised profession there is no licensing required.

Posting flyers? No problem! Cyprus is the land of the Free!

Hi Lana
thanks, does that mean that an individual can't operate a business unless they have a registered company?
