GC members that would return under GC admin with A plan?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Socrates » Thu Jul 13, 2006 1:59 am

Okay now you we have found ally (Taliban’s) no we are in the right way.

I believe what your analysis is rubbish but I’ve to say what you have problem me about this issue. I’ve brought you some names now is your turn. Who says the above theories?

This is a big matter (if is true) this ridiculous percentage you have present can’t be true.

Christophias-Tsielepis have said what 90 000 people was going back under GC authority this is alone is a bigger percentage of properties from what you have said.

Who says that theories?

I hope not some Taliban.

And the other one theory about the BBF give me some links.

Is it really 200.000? I seem to remember reading in UN documents it was closer to 160.000, the 200.000 appears to exaggerated.

My analysis is rubbish???

Why is it rubbish? Where do you disagree from the facts that I gave you? Where do you see that I made a mistake?

Just because the houses in which half of the GC refugees used to live before 74 are returned in the areas under the control of the GC state, it doesn't mean that also half of their properties are returned. The entire Morfou town was returned, but only 50% of the properties of those people were. Varosha was returned, but all the GC inhabitants of Varosha had properties outside the town, in other areas of Famagusta district which were not returned.

As for the real estate values of those properties returned under the control of the GC state, did you look at the map? The value of one donum of land on the coast areas of Kyrenia, Karpasia, Famagusta, etc, (all the coastal areas which we weren't turned to the GC state) on he average is equal to the value of 10-15 donums of land in the areas that were turned to the GC sate and which included the plains between Nicosia and Morfou (kontemenos, ayios vasilios, Gerolakkos, skylloura, ayios ermolaos, sisysklipos, fylia, Massari, etc.) and part of the Mesaoria plains (Assia, lysi, Vatili, kontea, prastio, Achna, Tympou, etc.) The land in all those areas is only suitable for farming and growing wheat and barley, and their values are much less than areas suitable for tourism and real estate development such as the coastlines.

The number of GC refugees in 1974 was around 175,000. However, just because they were made refugees, it doesn't mean they were also castrated, and of course since then they have also multiplied together with the rest of the population. Today they should be at least around 250,000. The children of refugee parents are also refugees, since all they own (house, properties, etc) is in the occupied north.

I can’t believe the GC people in a political forum like this are so politically naοve as to talk about partition.Partition for us the GCs is not an option not because it is bad or good or non patriotic or anything or compared to Anan plan better etc, but because it would lead to one and ONLY one outcome. The present Attila line as a border. We will get nothing back and we would have signed our death sentense.

For exactly the same reasons the idea of partition was always cultivated among the Tcs and for exactly the same reason Viewpoint in here applaudes every one who just talks about it, and laughs behind your back hearing you dreaming for 18% for them.Cause he knows better than you that by the minute partition becomes an option, all you will get is a huge cuccumber from here to Apostolos Andreas long.

I ‘ve seen those polls. Has anyone ever questioned the motives of the person who does all those polls? What is he really upto, what is he going to gain? Feel free to enlighten me.

That is why we never made it an option so far. An agreed partition can only become an option if the Turkish side proposes and in fact does unilaterally withdraw to the percentage of territory we are talking about. Only then we will lift our objections and sign a final partition deal, or unless there will be enough guarantees from the outside (such as a UN SC resolution under chapter 7) that Turkey will be made to withdraw to the agreed territory. However, the same non-guarantee regarding territory returns, holds equally true in the case of the Annan plan territory returns.

So what you are saying is that partition is not an opiton, have you found anything better, did it drop put of the sky this morning please share it with us as no one appears to be aware of it. We have not been able to resolve our problems since the 50s, why? because we cannot or we would been living and working together many years ago. The closest we got was the referendum and even then what was acceptable to one side was totally unacceptable to the other. This must tell you that given our situation and experience neither side is willing to compromise to find a solution.

Tsielepis said what it was very difficult to make calculations and he did fall in the trap to speak about percentage in money counting when actually over 150 000 of refuges could go back and after 15 years or after TC fix their economy and have 85% of the wealth we have (I put it in simple words) full rights to mix population and start a common future under the same possibilities and not by drinking the blood of the minority. This time we have to supply with some blood the poor people it’s our responsibility coming from the mistakes of the past.

And you didn’t give me any links for your theories. I’m interested more in the BBF theory because I’m really interested to have a fair solution and not something less.

--------

All I know about that poll’s what is creation of the same media who propagandize and demonize the Anan plan.

Please do us all a favor. Read some independent analyses of the Anan Plan. What Kifeas cared to explained you is 100% correct to the last iota. I am glad the AP was turned down otherwise we would have a revolution here. And you yourself would be one of the revolutionaries who would cry all day that they fooled you.

Look we all care for our country. We did not turn down the AP with light heart. So stop insulting everybody, especially when obviously yourself did not even ever spent half an hour to scrutinise on the details of this plan, and you come here 2+ years after to tell us all sorts of nonsense.

Kifeas made you a BIG favor losing his time explaining you…
