New Negotiation Process

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I commend the Greeks for not falling into the Annan trap...that's exactly what it was...a trap...you think the majority of Turkish Cypriots would have voted for it if it weren't?

iran forever , it is one thing to say that the tcs voted for the plan bc it satisfied their concerns , or even their interests , but to say that they voted for it bc it was a trap for the gcs , it is not that proper.

The Turkish Cypriots, when voting on the Annan Plan, were playing high stakes poker game. They voted "YES" to finally try to have a solution to Cyprus problem and to improve their lives by being in the EU. Of course, they knew that the Greek Cypriots were going to vote "NO" based on all the negativities towards the plan, so they really had absolutely nothing to lose, but everything to gain by voting "YES". It allowed the TC's to be viewed as willing to work towards peace in the eyes of the world, and of course, the opposite for the GC's with their "NO" vote. Even if the TC's did not believe in the plan, they could not lose by voting "YES". So now, the TC's have the upper hand in the future negotiations. If I was part of the 82% majority, being pushed around by the 18% minority, I would be pissed off also. In essence, PappaD had painted himself into a corner, and now looking for a "life line" from the EU, to once again to gain the upper hand. I can't wait to see the outcome of the next poker game. Anyone wants to place bets??!!

If that is your bet, then I'm afraid you have already lost your money, since this will not give you what you really want, a majority rule by the GC's in Cyprus. Care to bet on another game.??

How did I lose my bet. My bet was that TRNC will never be legal. And by your rules of norms, you still got hope it will. Hasn't been in 32 years. 32 more or 320 more. Just said it'll never be legal, especially with the word Turkish in it. Just take it for what its worth nothing more or controversial.

What I'm saying is, that if your predictions are correct, than there're no winners, just more of the same.

Sorry to tell you this, but TRNC will eventually become legal and probably in our lifetime.......it's already recognised unofficially - otherwise Cherie Blair wouldn't be taking on the Orams case.

the Orams case has nothing to do with the TRNCy, or recognition of it...

The Orams case is about endorcing a judgment from the RoC in the UK...

I understand that, but the fact that the Orams live in the TRNC amounts to some recognition!
