Am happy to see you are going to Limassol. If you are hiring a car and planning a day to Paphos I would advise leaving quite early and using the old road which is the sea front from Limassol going through the plantations of Akrotiri area and passing Curium (Kourion) (a place worth visiting in its own right with the amphitheatre and good beach with tavernas.) I also like to visit Pissouri but that should be on a separate day or you wont have long enough to see Paphos. By keeping to the B6 you will have the wonderful view of Aphrodite's Rocks at Petra tou Romiou. I always like to have a drink on the terrace of the CTO restaurant which is signposted turning right before the Rocks, the road leads upwards and when you go through the restaurant you get a wonderful view of the rocks from above the road. There is car park on the right hand side right opposite the rocks but without a good view or taverna.

As for eating places in Limassol do try Mikri Maria's in Ankara Street near the Castle/St.Andrews Street area. Her food is always excellent and you get the impression you are in her dining room it is so homely. I have met many Cypriots there because they like her food. The menu is good Cypriot cooking and I love her grilled fish.

Outside Limassol my favourite is Kamares in Lofou Village.

Drive directions

Postby hokkis » Tue Aug 01, 2006 10:35 am

Hi all !!!

We are going to Limassol for 2 weeks in this month. We have rented a car for 3 days. Car rent cost; 100 CYP (A/C). cheap price!!!

One driving route will be following:
*Akrotiri salt lake
*Colossi castle
*Courion
*Sanctuary of Apollon Ylantis
*Couris dam
*Aprodite's birthplace
*Pafos
*Avakas gorge

Have anyone drove in trodos mountain? Any suggestions for driving route?

And how about east side limassol to larnaca direction?

I would say CYP100 is lil high for 3 days but depends on which car you hired ....

Drive to trodos is quite easy ... simply follow road signs ;)

Some popular places in Troodas: Platres, Agros, Kakopetria. In Paphos district you should also go northern to Polis, Lachi (Lakki in your map) and the Baths of Aphrodite nearby. In Larnaca disrtict except from Larnaca town you can go to Lefkara village. Famagusta district: Ayia Napa, Protaras, Cape Greko. If you get up early you could do Paphos district in one day, another day for Troodos and another day for Larnaca-Famagusta area. Of course in 3 days you will not be able to explore much. ;)

Howdy!

Thank you for places to visit information. I have tryed write some information of villages and historical sights near villages for other readers, but its quite difficult because the topic is too exhaustive.

Me and my good friends think same as you. We will sanctify one day per trodos, paphos district and of cource larnaca district. Its shame that car incurance does not cover Turkis Occupation area.

Today news in Finland: Oil will maybe affect to Cyprus
