Akritas Plan, what was it?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Clever by-passing Bananiot.

However my bet was very explicit.

Good luck to you!

We do speak the same language, because we alreddy agreed on this a month ago. Since Makarios couldn't change the Constitution, he just simply ignored it.

theres no doubt anymore , this place has no hope.

the one said : no we didnot have divisions between makarios and grivas supporters in the tanks division (tethorakismena). only fascist (excuce me ethnikofrones) were allowed to join.

the greek general said : at that time we had the power to make cyprus greek. grivas had right and it was wrong from makarios to stop him after two days. it was a big dissapointment that when we were "winning" we received orders to retreat. by winning he meant : kofinou

sourmelis question : my general (stratige mou) what kind of arms did you use on that day ?

no mention , on civilian casualties.
not even a mention (like the EUs current position) of disproportionality of actions , and at least to say : well some civilians "accidentaly died".
the type of guns they used was ofcource an information that it is of prime importance.

the show was not surprisingly ended with the famous song

"na kamo manes dihos gious , gynaikes dihos antres"

and all this happens in the year 2006!!!
they have practically herofied the whole event!!!!

Hush Cypezokyli, these things are not for broad view. The enemy is reading us and probably Socrates too, who is more silent than fish, lately. Or is he?

That is very true. Precisely as the TC vice president Dr. Kutchuk did for the RoC. He just ignored it and declared his own state within state (the transitional Turkish Republic of Cyprus as he called it,) in which he also became the president. You see kikapu, playing the blame game is something pretty easy for almost everyone to do.

Can you give us some more hint as to what you are talking about? Who was the general that you mention above? Didn't Logos change into Mega chanell, long time before? Are you still there? Who /what is sourmeli?

since i am abroad i am dont have cyprus tv.
i can listen logos radio through the intenet from www.e-radio.gr

stella sourmeli is a reporter
http://www.logosradio.com.cy/dimosiog_ssourmeli.shtml

she has a show everyday in the morning between 9-10.

i am not sure if the greek guy was a general , but thats how she called him. he was not a general back then .He was in cyprus as a soldier (he came dressed as a woman with a cypriot i.d. etc etc) . I am sorry that i didnot note his name.

one of the three (it might even be the "general") will be participating today in her afternoon show 4-5 (ellinon promahountes kyprioi) . i am not sure if the topic, will again be the same.

Therefore you are basically commenting and asking us to do so on the program of a journalist who apart from her mother and some very few others, no one knows her in Cyprus, who happens to be working for a private radio station that most are not even aware that it continues to exist, and who was interviewing and airing the opinion of someone who was a soldier in Kofinou and whose name you do know but you think he may be a general now? General where, in the Cypriot army? In the Greek army?

Shall I start interviewing and airing my grandmother’s opinion as well? She did not go to school but who knows, maybe she has also some opinion on this or on some other topic relating to the Cyprus problem. Isn't it about time we start separating the “wastage from the wheat,” and concentrate only to what people that count, do have to say?

first you ask , if it is mega or logos. as if it would have made a difference if i confused a station which changed its name in the process

as to who knows her in cyprus , is sth that i dont know. i do not know what ratings logos gets. but i know that logos is one of the few stations (proto, 3 rik , astra, kanali 6, and a couple more) that is not local ,but it plays throughout cyprus. its position actually in the FM range is quite central (two positions actually) at 101.1 and 101.6. unless you dont do any zapping on the radio its kind of difficult to avoid it.

which are the famous ones journalist that the rest of cyprus listens btw ?

private....church controlled....both....i am not exactly sure what the status of logos is.
the fact is that they are cooperating with MEGA - i.e. logos radio does not have a news department but connects with MEGA tv at 13:00 and 19:00 for news. the question that comes to mind , is if the political position of logos is independant from MEGA ?
listening to the news from MEGA...i would say the political position is identical.

the importance is not the names of the guys, (its easy to call at the station and ask) , but how such an important topic in our history has been presented.
besides, thats what we do quite often in this forum. we do discuss what journalists say. half of the topics , start with an article from a (unknown ?) journalist.
if you think that it is not important then, theres no point in commenting.

imo, the heroification of such a tragic event of our history (even from an unimportant , as you say, journalist) is something that should worry us. if it doesnt worry you , then you can just relax.

can you direct me , to any radio station and the show of a (even an unimportant one) journalist , who is working against stereotypes and fears between the two communities ? i would be glad to listen to sth positive for a change.
