Intermarriages between Turkish and Greek Cypriots

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Viewpoint » Sat Jul 08, 2006 6:09 pm

Here on the island intermarriages are still frowned upon and a taboo. Im pretty certain the majority of TCs families would not like their children marrying a GC and would prefer other nationalities which again they may not be happy with but would tollerate.

It is a very difficult subject and have a daughter who has luckily chosen a TC.

Is it religion and the absurdities attached to archaic beliefs that make intermarriages taboo .
The Jews and the Muslims still continue to mutilate babies because of a religious anachronism , and I don't want to be called Islamophobic or anti Semitic , I just detest barbaric gestures, in the name of God.Did god ever say let there be light and let little boys willies be mutilated ?
Talking about barbaric gestures in Iran stoning to death is regularly carried out by savages who call them selves religious. God (THE NON EXISTENT MERCIFULL ONE ) have pity on these barbaric savages who stone a human being to death .

I was once asked "What's it like being married to a foreigner?".

My reply, "I dont know, I've never been married to anyone else".

Get into bed with the enemy and procreate! its beats kicking the crap out of each other in the name of religion/ethnic identity/race/politics/isms or any other propogandist with his eye on the main chance, reason for blood letting.

Careful there Natty , there many interpretations of "faith " that are barbaric , inhumane , full of hatred and malice for those that do not share their sick and perverted ideologies.
Respect their rights to believe in whatever sick teachings they want to believe , but respect their beliefs , big big difference.
Sorry Natty.

It's okay Miltiades, I understand...I know that 'in the name of religion' horrific things have taken place, 911 is an example..I suppose what i'm trying to say is, that not everyone who is religious believes in of doing such barbaric things in the name of God, they are just people trying to live their life as best as they can, and they beleive that following a certain religion is one of the way of doing that...If that makes any sense...;)

Peace! :D

Lets not separate the world in to two the Evils and the Angels! Americans are not as angels as they pretend to be! The war in Iraq cost the lives of more than 200 000 Iraqi Civilians. Was Saddam as dangerous is he was described to be? I dont think so ........................!

Michalis , where did you get the figure of 200000 civilians , and is there a separate figure for civilians killed by suicide bombers or are they included in the 200000 ?
