Will we ever really trust each other??

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I think that viewpoint should read above ""PS, I got the quote from the UN Human Rights page " and perhaps he can tell us what he makes of the Secreatary General's of the UN statement "

"""the Turkish Cypriot leadership is committed to physical and geographical separation of the communities as a political goal, it is not likely to encourage activities by Turkish Cypriots which may be interpreted as demonstrating the merits of an alternative policy. The result has been a seemingly deliberate policy of self-segregation by the Turkish Cypriots" (S/6426). """

Havent you been telling us all along that the Turkish Cypriots fearing for their lives were forced into enclaves, the UN SECRETARY -GENERAL DID NOT SHARE YOUR VIEW IN 1965.

Piratis:

In many occasions I have said that TCs could be given things that no other minority has, such as veto powers in certain important matters, quarantined proportional (and even boosted) representation in the government.

About the veto thing it is a strong part of the BBF. We have the right as a 00000.1 minority in Europe to make veto.

I’ve to see a different proposition for that (I’m waiting to learn more about Kifeas theory or any other based on BBF).

About the second part I agree but is a minus importance issue(the numeric) if we see it through the whole plan philosophy.

miltiades you to uhhhh, are you trying to excuse your actions which lead to TCs having to band together in order to survive. Do you subscribe to the theory that these people wanted to live in ghettos and squaler, they brought this hardship upon themselves because they just felt like it or is this actions of people who are scared shitless for their lives.

The SG comments are after 1963 when all hell let loose and the two communities were split due inter communal killing, of course they would not want to associate with their murders or terrorists or people that would put them in risk.

I have been trying to explain this balance of 2 partners

Here we go again. Were did Kifeas talk about a "balance between 2 partners" and you agreed with him already??

He talked about a balance between the equality of citizens and equality of communities.

In many occasions I have said that TCs could be given things that no other minority has, such as veto powers in certain important matters, quarantined proportional (and even boosted) representation in the government, affirmative actions etc, all these on top of our major compromise that the 18% TC minority can be the majority (and therefore run) one of the 2 states. This a "shade" of democracy. What you talk about is a shade of apartheid.

What we need to do in this case is to find ways to strike a balance between the two types (levels) of partnerships, i.e. the one that claims we have two shares and two partners (the TC and the GC community,) and the one that claims we have 850,000 shares and each one of us -as an individual Cypriot- is holding one such partnership share.

The above is just another shade Piratis, do you now understand what I have been trying to explain to you?

I also agree with your comments regarding compromises why do you feel I argue in favor of aparthied?
