My God air fares are set to rise again!!

Its something to do with green tax, (another tax for us to pay for)
Whilst I believe in a greener world, I recycle when I can, I make my own compost, etc, air travellers seem to always be paying for something more.
The cost of an average flight to Cyprus is around 180cyp and now with this rise it will be a hell of a lot more

Most expat's like to fly at least once a year back to the UK, to see family etc and the EU is now making that an impossibility.

What does everyone else think about this???

i wouldn't care less if we had at least one major low cost air carrier like easy jet but since we dont' cause of the stupid monopoly in this country i say this sucks!!!!!

I think you should thank the EU from brining the price down to £180 in the first place...

Another additional air fare tax has also been agreed by France Cyprus and a couple of other (but not all) EU member states.
New tax will be for the aid of developing nations, top rate will be 48Euro for longhaul flights.
This tax is aimed at rectifying the lower than agreed percentage of GDP that some EU member states currently contribute to international development.

No start date as yet, possibly later this year.
