Hi,
l just thought l would let you know, l am an RGN and l have worked in 2 clinics in the Famagusta area,I lasted 6 shifts in one and 8 shifts in the other.
In all my years of nursing in the UK l have never seen such antiquated nursing skills and conditions. The money is 20 years behind that of UK and also the skills. Beware...........

hey if anyone one wants to do a bit of charity work come be my midwife for the next few months im gagging for an english professional to be with me through this one, as i have posted many times im finding the language barrier with my doctor not much fun, im also terrified he will give me a c section for no reason other than its more money in their pocket and they can set the date and time. So if any of you want to get into heaven lol i need an angel! lol

Hi,
l can pick up the odd thing, but l do not speak the lingo.
Most of the nurses were all from EU countries very poor and they needed to work, THEY ACTUALLY SEND MONEY HOME.
l must say that the girls fron Bulgaria, Romainia, and other Baltic states could not believe how much Cyprus lacks in basic nursing care.
Sorry to be so negative but l cannot believe what l saw and l have made a complaint to the EU obudsman.
Lets hope they catch up soon.

Littlemiss- do not fear! You will be OK. If everything is OK and you are not putting your baby in danger, you can always put your foot down and say you want a natural birth.

I am suprised that you are having problems communicating with your doctor. Most doctors speak English.

As for the nurses, well there are some good ones and some bad ones. When I had my baby two years ago in Larnaca, the clinic was full of EU nurses. Two or three were great. They knew exactly what they were doing but the rest were a nightmare. One of them was changing my baby and opened the cabinet above and some bottles fell out onto my newborn baby's head!!

There was another one, now she really scared me, just seeing here was firghtening!!. She said she was a midwife from the UK (she had gone from Cyprus years ago, to study there and ended up staying) but when she came to take out the drip from my hand she took hold of the tape and just ripped out the needle with the tape, it was so painfull. I didn't want her near me or my baby after that.
