I was glad when I saw that mivision will now show LTV but when I read the 12 pounds per month part I was disappointed :( Mivision is now 10 pounds per month if you also have i-choice so an additional 12 pounds is a 120% increase just to get LTV and ALPHA :( Thats TOO much!! Primetel will also show LTV and Alpha but I guess they will not include it in the basic package either. :(

This is what we were told some months ago

According to Timotheou, the nuts and bolts of the agreement in its first phase would see LTV offer a four-channel package on miVision including cartoons, feature films, sports (primarily domestic football matches) and a second sports channel showing international matches combined with telemarketing programmes.

Both CyTA and LTV would each earn £7 for each subscriber tuning in, at no extra cost to current subscribers to either miVision or LTV.

This arrangement would last until 2010 when the entire LTV programming package carried on miVision at a slightly higher cost to subscribers.

"Whatever the cost, our service will always be cheaper," said Timotheou.

There is an extra cost and 120% increase is NOT just "slightly higher"!!

Sotos, I am not a TV person but we subscribe to the Nova package (£27), via Multichoice and before they pulled the plug my wife viewed LTV on a daily basis. We also have Broadband package provided by Cyta, including Telephone service-subscription (£7), Broadband i-choice512 (£12) andCytaNet subscription (£9). Total cost of both packages £55.
To recover LTV we now intend to go for the Full miVision package which, including the telephone subscription, will cost us a total of £50 monthly.
A saving of £50 and Broadband in situ for future upgrades. That, I believe, is the way to go....
Any comment?

Nova has a lot more channels. It also has Filmnet. With Mivision you will get less so the 55 pounds that you paid before was a better deal than the 50 you will pay now :( But if you want LTV then you have no option except if you want to wait to see how much primetel will charge for LTV.

Sotos thank you for that. So many of the channels included in the Nova package are a waste of time, in particular those on Hotbird! Filmnet yes, but currently showing films with non-english dialogue and of course with Greek subtitles. A Multichoice operative did mention that Filmnet will get better and a secondary channel should also appear but, no dates were mentioned. The SuperSport channels are, I believe, coming via Greece and certainly not the 'real thing'. Going over to miVision will at least please my wife, simply because of the recovery of LTV!
Regards.

I was going to go for either Primehome or MiVision purely for LTV and Alpha, so I can have my English football. Instead, I'll be signing up to Nova so I can also get Filmnet and the ART Supersports, which imo is the best package out there for English football........yes, even better than Sky!

Or better still, just get the joint Al Jazeera and Art Sports card.

As for best packages out there, you already have the internet, so perhaps look at some foreign sattelite packages like the Romanian one which has 4 movie channels in English, a Sports channel which shows English football live costing around £8/month. Then there's a Dutch package which has even more sports channels and around 2 movie channels costing around £10/month.

There is alot of choice out there. Search the internet and find the packages that suit YOUR needs, not what is thrown in your face.

No worries folks soon FilmNet will be available.

Actually whole Nova Package will be available! It's matter of licensing and time!
Also Al Jazeera is on it's way!

We have had primetel for a month and we got rid of the tv in the first week as we thought it was rubbish - mainly russian/foreign channels, only about 4 english ones. OK you can upgrade and pay for and get a LTV and Alpha, think it is extra £10 per month for these two (got letter other day). We got rid of tv and upgraded our broadband.

You mean Primetel? Primetel will have Filmnet? Will it be in the basic price, or it will cost extra? Do you work for them?

only about 4 english ones.

I see more English ones in their list. Don't you have to pay extra to get the Russian?
