How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

As far as I'm concerned the Greek Cypriots got what They deserved when they lost their land.
Greeks are not very truthful people and also they can be very cruel and greedy.
They ill treat their wives and their workers.
They ill treat their family members.
And they will never do any thing unless they will gain something from it.
They are plain heartless.
I am sure that many in this forum feel the same way I do

Datalife, thats really generalizing a whole community!! Theres good and bad traits in all peoples but no ordinairy Cypriot "deserved" to lose their home whether GC or TC. What happened was politics and outside interference, and as usual thousands of ordinairy people ( Cypriots ) got caught up in the tragic seperation. There are GC's on this forum who I would NEVER classify in the way you describe, your predudice reminds me of those who said that all Irish were "thick bog trotters " who only cared about the next pint of guiness, unkind and untrue !!!!!!!

let me tell you theresa that i am a greek cypriot and what i see which takes place between the greek cypriots i am not proud and what makes me more scared is that i think that i too may be just like them and it frightens me
all these years i supposed myself to be a reasonably good person but now i can see that we are all the same. our blood is tainted with abusing each other and putting each other down and also we are happy to gain from eachothers misery
greek cypriots are not happy to see each other succeed they are self serving and they think only about them selves

Datalife, thank you for being honest, I am sorry that you have that opinion of your fellow GC's I take it you are speaking from experience of this greedy behaviour? I am sorry if I offended you - you obviously have deep feelings about this - what would be your solution to this problem?

i really don't have a solution cause its a nation of corrupt people they all know whats going on but they all choose to turn a blind eye to it. its so good to pretend that it doesn't exist but its the poor working class cypriots that suffer whilst the rich get richer and we earn ourselves the name of being a nation of greedy bad hearted people. the government puts all this red tape that is only self serving and only benefits people with money like them selves and their families they make sure that the poor definately will remain poor

Sometimes I feel like you, datalife, and at these dark moments I find myself cursing the moment I set foot on this island where, among others, corruption and nepotism are always in order and where the so called ordinary people will do nothing about it because basically they are the ones who are after rusfet and they remain entrenched in their parties or organisations hoping that one day it will be their day to recieve the benefit for their blind acceptance of the wisdom of the elected lords. Much like someone who is always hopeful that one day he will win bigtime on the lottery.

The best way to survive in this hostile environment is to find people who think similarly to you and create a kind of an oasis, in this desert of ours.

Alternatively you could always emigrate and discover that it's pretty much the same wherever you go in this world.
