well dont scratch them for starters, they might get infected.
if u go to a pharmacy they usually have sprays or creams for after-one-got-bitten. im not sure if its any good for the skin, but menthol spirit does help to stop the itch :) a granny's recipe is use vinegar to stop the itch and prevent getting bit. ..i wonder the smell though..
cant be of any more help, sorry. i myself am allergic to those so if i get bitten - pills

I know how bad these bites can be!! The only repellant that really works is one which contains DEET but it is quite expensive! I heard years ago that the smell of Avons "skin so soft" bath oil also repels them , and I tried this on a trip to Sri Lanka - this worked too! Good luck

Mrs. CyprusGrump uses mosquito milk to keep them at bay – and we spray the bedroom with Aroxol at about 8pm so that it doesn’t stink when we go to bed but the little blighters are (hopefully) exterminated.

Unfortunately, the noseemes are the only things that bother me… :-(

I've never heard of noseemes, do they look like mosquitos?

I was told by a doctor that regular intake of vitamin b repells mosquitos as it lets of an odour they don't like, an odour not smelt by humans.

Haven't put this to the test myself.....yet.

Noseemes are the same as noseeums – little tiny light-coloured flies with the bite of a hungry piranha. :-(

Hi all,

I get eaten alive by whatever, I tried "Skin So Soft" and they loved it.
Garlic is supposed to be good too.
I hate the thought of putting anything with Deet in it on my skin, it aint good for you.

I now make my own and this is the reciepe

Insect Repellent Oil:
8oz light oil of choice (such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil)
15 drops citronella essential oil
10 drops rosemary essential oil
10 drops lemongrass essential oil
10 drops catnip essential oil
Mix ingredients and store in a dark glass bottle (all essential oils should be stored this way). Smooth on exposed skin, repeat as necessary.

Here are some ingredients that repel most insects

Natural ingredients that repel insects -
Mosquitoes: basil, catnip, cedar, citronella, juniper, lemongrass, rosemary.
Flies: basil, citronella, juniper, palmarosa, rose geranium.
Fleas: pennyroyal.
Ants: all varieties of mint.

Hope this can help you, I hate the little buggar's. :2guns:

You had the right idea but the wrong method, rub a piece of lemon on them and the irritation stops, but without the smell!
