Hi littlemiss

most lamb is imported and therefore more expensive.

Um…

Think of how many restaurants offer ‘lamb’ dishes and how may sheep farms there are – doesn’t add up does it?

Basically, you can’t tell the difference between the taste of the two.

Sorry. :(

Wow! What a response! I'm not really too fussy whether it's lamb or goat (after this many brandys, who cares?). Just wondered why no sheep on the hillsides. On the subject of chicken ...... the US forces in Vietnam used to say that snake tasted very much like chicken!
Does that make anyone turn veggie?

I can tell the difference between goat and lamb, the goat meat has a gamier smell to it, and its a bit tougher. Mind you i think a lot of meat here is tougher, i used to joke and say they wait till it dies of old age before they sell it. I think goat is more muscular with all that climbing about rocks. The tenderest meat i have had was suckling pig, so long as i didnt think about a cute baby piggy as in 'babe'... The chicken has improved since joining the EU too. I eat meat, but not often, and i pass on the testicles and goats heads, that are considered such a treat....
